Description of 1972 Chevrolet Blazer

*** 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer - 4x4 Convertible Fun!!! ***
A Little History
  • I purchased this Blazer in July 2012 from a gentleman in Arkansas who owned the vehicle since the early 70's
  • Previous owner stated that he drove the truck only occasionally and only had the top off of it twice
  • Along with the Blazer came a folder of receipts/paperwork - including the ORIGINAL PROTECT-O-PLATE and warranty card!
  • In the folder is also the original new vehicle inspection document dated 11/26/71
  • He kept it in near-stock condition, ith a few exceptions:
    • 5.7L GM crate motor added in 1996
    • Electric fuel pump
    • Dual exhaust (I thought this was factory)
    • Underdash AC
    • Steering wheel from a late 80's Blazer
    • At some point he painted it the blue you see now from the original white
  • Vehicle had 85,544 miles on it when I received it
  • This K5 was very well-cared for - and it shows
Since I've Owned It: 2012 - Today
  • Vehicle now has just over 90,000 miles
  • Updates include:
    • New fuel pump
    • New alternator
    • New rear drum brakes
    • New Rancho RS9000LX shocks all around
    • New 33" BF Goodrich All Terrain tires
    • 12-bolt 3.73 Posi rear gearing
    • New stereo hidden in the center console, ith remote:
      • HD Alpine head unit (mp3, luetooth, irius xm, andora...even CD)
      • JL Audio 700W 5 channel amp hidden in box under center console, long with a 10" JL Audio subwoofer
      • JL Audio 6x9 3-way speakers mounted behind the seats
    • Roll bar
    • Removed all carpeting - replaced with new, eather-proof spray-in liner
NOTE: Vehicle does not have the rear bench seat. It didn't come with it when I purchased it in 2012 - not sure if it ever had one or not.
Condition
  • Mechanically excellent - starts up, hifts smoothly, uns as it should
  • Cosmetically in very good condition; main issues (as listed in the condition details section):
    • Paint:
      • Chips where the doors meet the frame when closed
      • Chips between hood and windshield
      • Chips around the E and the V on the CHEVROLET across the tailgate
      • Scuffs where the big, eavy fiberglass top rests on the sides of the bed
    • Cracks in the back of the driver's seat
    • Reverse light on driver's side is cracked
I have the top - it's suspended via a pulley system in my garage. I only put it back on when I had the roll bar made - to make sure the top fits with the roll bar in place. It's in great shape - just one minor chip in it.
Overall - this K5 is in very, ery good shape. I drive it on nice days - and drive it as often as I can. It definitely turns heads and gets lots of attention - since these seem to be more rare than the Ford Bronco (which many people confuse this with, hen they stop you!). It is a total blast!
Why am I selling it? I love this Blazer - and would love to keep it. But, have my eye on a 1972 Chevelle SS convertible. And while I'd like to keep them both - finding storage for multiple cars is a pain. And, have a feeling this one would be ignored in place of the Chevelle, o I want to find it a nice home with someone who will appreciate it as much as I do.
I welcome inspections of the vehicle and encourage you to have one done if you intend to bid/buy. And I welcome any questions.
