Description of 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS454

1970Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS454 !!!...This rare LS5 Monte Carlo has been off the road since the late 1980,s when the motor was pulled and sent out for a rebuild.Unfortunately the machine shop went out of business. The block,crank,rods,etc.etc. were "lost" and never recovered.Only the heads were returned. The car has sat outsidein a driveway covered up with tarps ever since. It has a long list of options including the SS 454 package,F41 suspension,A/C,tilt wheel, pwr windows, rear defogger, bucket seats and console, fiber optic light monitoring system, fiber optic windshield washer fluid monitor,ps,pdb,etc..The original Turbo 400 transmission and 12 bolt rear are still present. The (SS only) rear air suspension leveling valve and shock shields are still in place. The car still wears much of its original champagne gold paint. There is rust in the usual places, such as the lower rear quarters, front fenders, and around the rear window channel. The inner and outer rocker panels are rock solid. The roof looks good and solid.Underneath the car is pretty decent.,The front floor pans have some soft areas at the seamsbut the rear floors are solid as a rock. There are some some soft spots under the rear seat from the rear window leaking. The frame is solid and so is the trunk pan.The interior will need to be redone but its all there. Included with the car are all the parts pictured. The turbo 400 trans has a 70 CR code tag,the radiator has a BR code tag,and the heads are casting #3964290 dated I(September)-29-69. As far as I can tell these are all original LS5 big block components. This car needs a full restoration and I encourage you to come and see it if possible. I have a clear NJ title in my name.
