Description of 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza

This is a very clean and presentable car. The paint has recently been buffed and is very shiny. The car was restored in the early1990's and driven for a while. It does have some small dings and scratches but nothing major is wrong with it cosmetically. The top has two very smalltears on the drivers side rear. we put the car on a lift and the bottom looks good, o signs of rust we could see. The previous owner said the motorwas rebuilt when it was restored and hasn't had a lot of miles put on it.The engine compartment looks very clean as does the bottom of engine. The interior parts have not been repainted and are in original condition. has a nice wood steering wheel, believe is factory not certain. Factory a/m radio is still working. all gauges and indicator lights work except fuel gauge, nd tach works but doesn'tappear accurate.I had a mechanic take the cover off of the engine and clean out all of the debris so there will be no overheating problems. He alsoreplaced plugs, oints, ires, ap, otor, uel pump, nd vacuum tubing from cluster to manifold for the turbo pressure gauge. the car starts easily andidles fine. The tires have good tread but sat flat for several years while it was stored indoors and not driven. They seem to have flat spots on them when you drive it so they will probably need to be replaced. The car still has the original 1964 Spyder hubcaps. The brakes may need some minor adjustments but stop the car fine. It could use asome new weather stripping here and there. The chrome looks pretty nice, he rear window is pretty clear as well. The engine compartment and trunk area are very nice. The oil dipstick tube was missing the rubber boot and we drove the car not being familiar with corvairs, didn't know the oil would come out of the dipstick tube or that it was suppose to have a boot, eedless to say the oil it blew out was sucked in by the cooling fan on top of the motor and is still being burnt off, o there is a little bit of smoke coming from the engine now, nbsp;not the exhaust. I have ordered the boot from Clarks Corvair and should have it by Monday. Hopefully I will be able to drive it enough to burn off all the oil by the end of the auction. I took the car in on trade and don't know a whole lot else about it, ut will be happy to answer any questions I can. I am very picky and honest about the cars I sell. This is a very honest and accurate description. It is a very nice looking car, ut not a show car. PLEASE NOTE THIS VEHICLE IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY, ISTING WILL BE REMOVED IF SOLD.
