Description of 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396

On a dismal sunday I was lucky enough to make contact with the owner of this chevy. It had been raining for days and nobody wanted to come out of the house. It was a muddy day. & we huddled around the chevy and made a deal. The young man had trailered the car into cali from arizona 8 years prior. He had it running hard and the whole family loved it. Then a small crack on the crankshaft stopped this car from any more use. It was making a ticking noise and they pulled the engine. The chevy would never hit the road again under the ownership of this fellow. The car has all the badging in the correct places. I have been buying. selling and driving these chevys for 25 years now. I will drop the tank and see if there is a build sheet available. I should also check the transmission for a match. It looks very tough right now. Some cars just have more presence than others. This one says rusty nails and 2x4's all over it. The roof is a disaster. Some guys would replace the whole thing. I think I would patch and seal myself. There is a parts car around the corner for $2500 if that interests you. It's just a shell and the guy wants it gone. If this is your year to fix up a bad ride look no further.
