Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro

This 1968 (1967 1969) Camaro has been been stripped from the inside out and restored from the ground-up into a resto-mod. I wouldn't consider it quite pro-touring but it does have a lot of upgrades heading in that direction. Everything and anything that could be removed and stripped was either powdercoated or replaced with a modern upgrade. The entire suspension. subframe. rear end housing. subframe connectors. radiator support. and various brackets have all been powder coated high gloss black. The underside is finished semi-gloss black for a nice contrast to those parts. Every nut. bolt. and washer is stainless steel except for a few steering and suspension bolts that are grade 8 for safety. All the brake lines. fuel lines. and and brake hoses are stainless steel. Fuel Tanks. Fuel sender. and tank straps. headers and entire exhaust are stainless as well. Even the engine's Harmonic Balancer is stainless steel. Basically if it could be powdercoated or gotten in stainless. then that is what happened. Lots of aluminum parts also such as hinges. fender supports. pulley brackets. etc. As I said. the body was stripped to bare metal inside and out and painted as well. Almost entirely still original sheet metal. The only patches were done inside the car. and the outside has no body filler other than what was needed to get perfect lines. You won't find a 2x4 or brick under a mountain of Bondo in this car! You can see that from the pictures of the build up. You can also see in the build pictures in the second half of the page that the entire subframe was welded down every seam for strength (unlike the GM factory "5th grader" welds). The idea for this car was to make the best balance of old school with some modern upgrades to make it more comfortable. safe. and fun to drive. I have hundreds of pictures of the this car as it sits in the first part of the webpage as well in the build process in the second half of the page. but there are some things that I forgot to photograph along the way. If there is something you want to see closer or that I have missed. let me know. I have intentionally left some extraneous info and stuff out to keep the ad as short as possible and to let the pictures speak for themselves. but I know this car inside and out. so don't hesitate to ask if you have concerns. I will respond quickly and there are no silly questions. I have a small video compilation at the top as well just so you can hear it run and drive (I only get into the carburetor Secondaries once as I was driving with one hand and it will break loose easily in 2nd). I am a car nut. so I might consider trades (old and new. nbsp;Classic Muscle Fastback Firebird Chevelle Nova Corvette Challenger Charger Mustang SS RS) with cash from the buyer or even cash on my end if your car is worth more. but no junk. It has to be somewhat reasonably close in condition.
