Factory Buildsheet SELLER REMARKS This 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS hardtop comes with a list of freshly restored and replaced equipment so long. it would probably be easier to just tell you what isn't new. The photos speak for themselves. but this is one of those rare cars that's actually even better in person than it appears in photos. and with a big block and a 4-speed. the best view is probably from behind the wheel. The restoration looks really expensive. and it starts with the gorgeous code D Mist Blue paint. which is this car's original color. It's subtle. no doubt about that. and this big Imp definitely walks softly and carries a big stick. The all-new 1965 styling is a slam-dunk as far as we are concerned. giving the Impala some real swagger on the street and an upscale look that should appeal to everyone. Fit and finish are exemplary. with some of the best gaps we've seen on one of these cars. and a shine that's as deep as the Grand Canyon. Those are some of the biggest quarter panels in automotive history. and they show straight enough to calibrate NASA's instruments. while all the chrome and stainless has been polished up to glitter like jewelry against the soft blue paint. You wouldn't think that something this pretty would also be brutally fast. but the crossed flags and little '396' emblems on the nose say otherwise. It's always cool to see a full-sized luxury car with buckets and a console. not to mention a 4-speed manual shifter. Wearing fresh seat covers in correct patterns and colors. the beautifully finished interior looks fresh and bright thanks to the airy Impala bodywork. The aforementioned console is a very desirable option. and this one is probably spec'd just about how you'd have done it yourself back in 1965. The big. skinny steering wheel seems right for a heavy cruiser like this. and the wide instrument panel covers the basics and also houses the original AM radio. Everything else you can touch inside this car is new. including the door panels. door hardware. headliner. and the rubber mats atop the fresh carpets. Back seat space is commodious. so grab some buddies and head out for some fun. and the trunk. as you'd imagine. is gigantic and includes a reproduction mat to make it look clean. This was originally a 327 car. but the 396 cubic inch V8 in there now looks so right. and brings so much horsepower to the party. that you'll quickly forget any matching-numbers nonsense. The big block looks great. dressed in a factory-style air cleaner and chrome valve covers. not to mention the bright Chevy Orange paint on the block. An Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carb feed the strong-running engine. and there's a big aluminum radiator up front to keep it cool. Power steering and power front disc brakes are welcome additions in something this big and fast. and we know you'll relish the idea of banging that Muncie 4-speed through the gears. The underside shows the results of a frame-off restoration. as it's super clean with a recent Flowmaster exhaust system and fresh shocks to make it ride right. It still feels like a luxury car despite the major muscle living within. Factory Rally wheels and fat 235/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear Firestone radials really fill the big wheel arches. You couldn't possibly restore this car to this level for twice the asking price. making this big block Impala a big bargain. too.
