This 100% numbers matching 1971 Chevelle SS LS5 was born at the Arlington Texas assembly plant on the second week of December 1971. It still has its original unmolested 365 HP 454 engine along with its original Turbo 400 automatic transmission and its original 3:31 ratio 12 bolt rear. This Chevelle SS has the following options: Factory Air Conditioning, oft Ray Tinted glass, port Stripes, ower Steering, M/FM Stereo with factory 8 Track Tape Player and the Z15 SS package. The car was thenshipped to SlaytonChevrolet in FortLauderdale Florida. This car was refinished in a high dollar base coat, lear coat paint job on its 100% rust free original body panels in its original Nevada Silver color. This SS also has theextremelyrare bench seat with the column shifter. Another RARE option was the D88 stripe package because they are square edged instead of the rounded outside edged ones. All 454 optioned SS Chevelles that weremanufactured at the Arington Texas plant until the second week of January 1972 had the square stripes. (the R in the serial # indicates the Arlington Texas assembly plant) A few 454 SS's also came out of theKansas city plant that also had the square edged stripes. This can be verified at the web site chevellestuff. In 1971 the 454 engine was ONLY available with the Z15 SS option. Again you can verify this at the chevellestuff website. This is in fact a genuine SS. The 454 engine code is stamped into the protect-O-plate. Please take note of the original 1972/73 Florida state inspection sticker still affixedto the windshield. Car has 29Kdocumented miles. I have the protect-O-plate, wners manual, riginal inventory key tag and the window sticker. Co's classic car guide has this car valued @Averageretail $43,100.00 # 2 condition value $57,400.00.NADA classic car value guide's value is @ Average retail $51,300.00. High retail is $71,100.00.Barrett-Jackson looked at this car at the Good Guys meet in Kissimmee, lorida and valued it in the mid $60,000.00 range.Told them I wasn't interested in Paying $1500.00 to ship the car to Az. Pay a Registration fee of $900.00 and then pay a 10% sellers fee and on top of all that sell the car with NO RESERVE.
