For Auction is a 1969 SS 396 Nova .It was bought new from Thayer Chevrolet in Bowling Green Ohio .The Nova, 1A build date, as ordered by a friend with an L78 375 hp engin, ench seat column shift automatic transmission . It logged a few street miles and then was built as a SS/EA NHRA class racer and sometime street racer. I've included a picture of it in race trim from back then. It was sold in late 1970 to make way for another race car . In 1995 the present owner bought the car out of a trader magazine and we realized it was the same car we raced as kids. The car was painted and a new vinyl top and front seat cover installed in 2001.It has some tears in the rear seat, eadliner and carpets. It was stored again until this summer when we got the car out and set a fresh 1971 402 Big Block engin, 00 turbo trans, 0 bolt rear end and new exhaust to get it back on the street. The car has patches over minor rust on the floor and the left rear gas tank bracket is rusty. The body has some filler and has single stage paint. It is a fun driver as-is or would make a worthwhile restoration project. The car is being sold As-Is No Warranty and is for sale locally.
