Description of 1963 Chevrolet Nova

1963 Nova SSConvertible
Up for auction is a really nice 1963 Nova SS Convertible. Original "Z" code Super Sport with many rare options. It is really hard for me to let this car go, ut I have a few projects right now and no indoor storage for this on this winter. This is a really nice older restore that can be enjoyed as is or taken to the next level with very little work. It was upgraded to a V8 and runs and drive GREAT! I will try to describe the car in as much detail as possible and if you have any questions please call me, ext, r email to get in touch with me.
Let's start with the cowl tag, t decodes as follows:04A = Build date is the first week in April, 963.Style 63-0467 = 1963 ConvertibleBody WR14532 = 4,532nd car built at the Willow Run plant in MI.Paint 936 = Original color was Ermine WhiteAccessories Line F2CDM3Z: F = Tinted windshield, = Padded Dash, = Special lighting group (trunk, nder hood, oot lighting), = M35 Powerglide transmission, = Super Sport.
Engine / TransThe engine is a smooth running 305 V8. Not a crazy souped up engine but it makes this little car a blast to drive. Super reliable and just a perfect match to this car for back road and highway cruisin. It has an edlebrock intake and a Holley 600. New battery and new exhaust manifold gaskets also new heater core was just installed. Car has manual steering and manual disc brakes. There are some power steering parts in the trunk that will go with the car. Transmission is a 2 speed Powerglide with floor shifter in the center console. Seriously just a perfect cruisin car.
InteriorInterior is GREAT on this car. Near perfect condition. All glass is good. Radio is in the car but not hooked up. Carpet and seats are all like new. Convertible top was just replaced this week and they did an amazing job on it, erfect ready to go. The top is manual but everything is in the trunk to make it power top (pump and cylinders). It has the two-speed windshield wipers and hazard 4-way lights which was an option. The 4 ways aren't working though. I haven't really looked into it too much but I noticed you have to hold the turn signal lever to keep the turn signals on so it may have something to do with the signal cam in the column.
ExteriorAs mentioned before this is an older restore and the paint is very nice but shows signs of age. You can see in the pictures that the paint has dissolved away under the fuel fill from fuel running down the side of the car and eating away at the paint. This is the only area that would really need repaired. There are some other minor chips and scratches that I wouldn't even touch if I were to keep it but obviously the area under the fuel fill would need addressed. I think a previous owner was beginning to repair this because the trim on that quarter panel is off and I DO NOT have it :-( and it looks like that area was sanded a little where the paint is missing. Wouldn't be hard to match that one panel, do have the paint code for the color that is on the car now. Underneath the car is in amazing condition. The trunk pan was replaced by a previous owner but as you can see in the pictures they just seam-sealed the panel and screwed it into place. Would be pretty easy to weld it up and speckle the trunk and make it right. Also car could use a new set of tires sooner or later but it is ok to drive as is.
So all in all this is one of the better Nova converts I have seen in a long time and I think whoever buys it will be very happy. There aren't a whole lot out there that haven't been fully customized or turned into race cars. This is a nice example of a mostly original car with the driveability and dependability of the later model V8. The reserve on this car I feel is set low fora quick sale. The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Car is sold "as is" with no warranties. I have described it the best that I can. If you are very serious I would encourage any bidders to come see the car in person. I think you will be very impressed as I've tried to talk the car down a bit. The pictures don't hide anything it really is a sharp car. Call or text Scott with any questions at 302-312-6547 or email through eBay. Thank you for looking and good luck!
