Description
What if....You were able to go back in time. Back to the spring of '67. You're a young car nut with money to burn, nd you're blown away after reading the magazine articles about the new Baldwin/Motion 427 Camaro and you decide to order one.
That was the premise for this recreation. If time travel were possible, his is the car I would have ordered.
I wanted to experience the thrill of driving one without the six figure price tag of an original example. This car runs, rives, nd sounds as it would have back then.
Built as a Motion Phase III with a 500 hp 12.5 to 1 427. Four bolt main block with a cross drilled nitrided forged crankshaft and big 7/16 L88 rods. Big solid lifter ZL1 camshaft. Ported rectangular port closed chamber cylinder heads,2.19" intake valves and 1.90" exhaust. Factory aluminum intake manifold with a 870 CFM Holley carburetor. All machine work done in house. Balanced, line honed, decked ect. The ignition system is an NOS Mallory Rev-Pol and it really does the job.
Billet flywheel with custom built clutch and a Lakewood scatter shield bell housing. Muncie M21 close ratio transmission. Correct 12 bolt rear end with huge Mark Williams axles and C clip eliminators. The gears are 456 installed in a spool. Reproduction Firestone Redlines on the front, hile M&H Street master cheater slicks with Lakewood traction action bars bring up the rear.
This car was a nut bolt restoration. Originally built on the Los Angeles assembly line, his California rust free car had been off the road and garaged for the over 25 years. It has the original floor pans, runk pan, nd window panels still. The body was painted its factory color; Royal Plum metallic with a two stage PPG basecoat clearcoat. The car is stunning in person. All the chrome and moldings are new. All the glass is new, s well as all the wiring. All new brake and fuel lines were installed. The car has power disc brakes and power steering. The interior also is all new, lack headliner and carpet with Parchment seats and door panels.
I also have it listed locally for sale and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
