Description of 1968 Chevrolet El Camino El Camino

I know quite a bit about this El Camino. I was commissioned to get it for a friend and make a trade. He is moving slowly so here is the truck for you. It starts like a champ. even after a month of rest. It puffs a bit of smoke and that could be from sitting. The gauges were crudely cleaned with steel wool. UGH! they will need some polish. The heater blower fan is out. could be electrical. or more likely. burnt out fan. The seat springs are sacked on the drivers side so if your less that 5'5 tall this will need to be addressed. The air shocks will go down in a month and you'll be low riding with the vatos. which is ok with me. Tires are only fair. The paint is 20 years old and looks good. better at night or in the fog it looks real nice. Electrical is good. music is ok. lights all work. Drivers door handle needs love. The space behind the seat is good. there is a little plastic/vinyl cubby that has been well preserved. I know these trucks have a tendency to rust there. this one looks fine. I drove it on the freeway. right on up to 65 mph and held it. Not bad for an old truck! It didn't hesitate or hiccup a bit. The title is in hand. If you're looking for a solid platform to restore here you go. If you want a reliable truck for work or hauling dogs or motorbikes here you are. This truck has been kept fairly original over the years and its a pleasure to own it. Harris.
