Description of 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

THIS IS A 210 WITH FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING!! THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE RAREST TRIFIVES IN EXISTENCE. This car retains it's original engine and according to the previous owner the original tranny. This car needs a complete restoration, ut is solid and fairly complete. We would like to keep the car, ut we can't give the car the kind of restoration a car this rare deserves. The car is very oddly optioned. It is a 265cid 3 on the tree, ith no power steering, o power breaks, ith electric clock, nd hood ornament and factory air conditioning. It was originally Matador Red with Charcoal/ Ivory interior. Before 1961 it was changed to a two-tone Matador Red/ White, the white paint is chipping off and the red is underneath.) The interior was changed to a light blue/ Ivory. We bought the car from a man who purchased it in 1961 at the age of 17 as a school car. By 1964 he had bought another car, nd his father was driving this car. He pulled the evaporator, eater core, nd blower motor off and put them in the backseat and the car was never driven again. Why, ecause it was hard to work on the passenger side and the a/c didn't work. Somehow by some miracle, he a/c parts were still in the car when we bought it. The odometer reads 71730, nd we believe that it is the original miles. The engine DOES turn over but we have not gotten it to run. The car is pretty solid, he drivers lower front quarter is in great condition and the passengers is just starting to bubble. The trunk floor has some surface rust in it but doesn't look like it needs replaced. The spare tire sump is also solid. There is a spot on the roof right above the drip rail that is starting to rust. The floor pans all have some small holes in them and will need replaced. The frame is solid as is the body mounts. The headlight "eyebrows" are also completely rust free. All we have of the a/c equipment is what is pictured. The guy who we bought it from said that the compressor was gone when he bought it in 61. The engine is a 265 with a GK suffix, hich according to GM Heritage means 265 2bbl 3 spd manual with air conditioning. The car was in a wreck in the early 60's and the and the drivers rear quarter was replaced, ut no frame damage was done and it has a clean title. Also included is a copy of the previous title with the info about the previous owner who sold the car in 1961, A man who I actually met several times, ho passed away in 2000). I have tried to get a hold of the family to see if he bought the car new and have had no luck. The cowl tag is located on the drivers side and reads,

On this tag the AC and EZI was stamped next to the trim and paint and not next to the ACC. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.

Rarely do you ever see factory air in a Bel air. I have never seen or even heard of a 210 with air conditioning. This has to be one of the rarest Trifives in existence.
