Description of 1991 Chevrolet Lumina

We are selling this car because we are moving this winter. from a house with a two car garage to a house with a one car garage. We do not want to store this car outside vs. it being always garaged. We always garage our cars. This car is a nice daily driver. I have been using it for my daily driver for the past couple months of and on for errands only. Very fun to drive automatic and great power with V6 mileage 26 MPG highway/ 17 city. One owner 1991 to 2013 and I bought this car in spring of 2013 and am the 2nd owner. with my father as co-owner on the title. • In early 2013 we purchased this car from the original owner in Joliet. IL. At the time we purchased the car. the car with original motor had 56. 84 miles on it. • I have a copy of the original Illinois car title that was sent to me with this car last year. That title copy says purchased new in Plainfield. IL and says that the car's odometer actual miles at that time (12/20/91) were 21. Besides that copy of the original title. I also have a clear Oregon car title now. • Basically this car was to be a casual father / son project for myself and my dad to slowly restore and enjoy driving while doing so. That said. soon after we received the car. we sent the car in for a head to toes mechanical inspection locally and we spent several thousand dollars along the way since then. Below outlines what we have done and spent on this car since buying it:• after months of tests and test driving it and work done in 2013. we determined in 2014 that the factory 56K engine ended up having a small to see and locate pinhead sized hole in the engine block that was a rare manufacturers defect. But the car is over 20 years old. So we decided to get a similar correct used engine with low miles on it. Our search for the lowest miles factory correct 3. 4 Liter FI engine found us one with 66. 00 documented miles on it. We have the paperwork showing the engine's mileage. So we spent $1. 95 so ship this compatible engine to us in Oregon (from Florida). Then we spent $3. 28 in parts and labor to take the 56K original engine out (which had a manufacturers pinhead sized hole defect in it turns out) and put in the 66K miles replacement engine that we had shipped out separately after buying this car. We have receipts for all of this which comes with the car. Additionally. . . . . . . We also have more receipts for work done to this car by ASAE certified mechanics on 6/15/14: Fixed Driver side window $48. 47 Replaced motor driver $217. 68 Removed and replaced front brake pads with premium pads $199. 95 Replaced front brake rotors with new ones $48. 47 Replaced fuel filter $88. 92 Replaced cooling fan $344. 21 Diagnose overheating temperature gauge which was inoperable $96. 95 Replace Temperature Sensor Gauge $123. 51• We also have more receipts for work done to this car (always done for us by ASAE certified mechanics) on 6/28/14: Investigate/replace/repair the E-Brake $233. 27 Back flush cooling system. add anti-freeze/anti-rust fluids $92. 42 Investigate / address/ fix temp gauge issues on-going $88. 95• New exhaust purchased and put on the car on 7/6/13 $170. 00• 20" Touring Ultra (Premium) new windshield Wiper blades - $28. 88• Had the car's underside professionally coated black with anti-rust $120. 00• On 6/25/13. purchased 4 premium tires at Les Schwab (P225/60R 97T Eclipse) $599. 00• New A/C installed & retrofit to R-134 $279. 94Exterior of the car: Has a door ding on the driver's side door. Someone this past summer we think rested or sat on the driver's side hood of the car and it now has butt indentations on the driver's side of the front hood. . . Uggh ! Pictures of this are in this ad. These can easy be fixed. but we have so much $ in to this car so far that we are selling it at the point we have brought it to so far. which is mechanically running good. but cosmetically the hood could someday get the indentation fixed and then the hood repainted to make it nicer to look at. Original paint. Rear plastic bumper paint is fading/faded. There is a very slight/slow/minor (oil?) leak detected in the engine bay . . . . . . . . . disclosing there is a slow/slight leak in the engine and I am not sure if leaking is the power steering unit. or engine oil. or both. I am out of money on continuing to restore this car and just trying to disclose what I know will need fixing if you want a 100% leak free car here. Or if a minor slight drip leak is something you can live with. then the car is turnkey now. otherwise. The slow occasional drip may be as simple as tightening a nut or bolt. I just don't know. Overall. it is a nice daily driver automatic that always starts first time and has great highway power and is good on gas. We just bought new front license plate bracket that is on the front bumper and paid to have it painted the same factory red color as the car's paint. We have the car's original Chevrolet dealer factory window sticker sheet that was sold new with the car in 1991. it details the car's features and estimated MPG. We also have the car's original owners manual in the glove box. Four new grey car floor mats. Have some receipts for same additional work that the previous original owner had done to this car at his local auto repair shop in 2010. 2011. and 2012 and will send these receipts along with the car. they are a couple thousand dollars of more car repairs that were done to this car and paid for by the previous original owner.
