1987 Callaway Corvette B2K Twin Turbo

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome 1987 Chevrolet Corvette Callaway Twin Turbo coupe. The name Corvette well known since the fifties, or its performance, andling, nd beautiful styling. This Bright red example was sold new on 3/15/87 with only 118 miles on the clock from Purifoy Chevrolet, ort Lupton, O. The car was number 63 in the sequence of all the Callaway Turbo Corvettes ever produced!

These Corvette’s would be offered from 1987 to 1991, ith what would become known as the RPO-B2K upgrade, his package was available from any Chevrolet dealer only and was also Callaway’s first major Corvette tuning program. Chevrolet was interested in Reeves Callaway successful tuning history and requested a similar program for the fourth generation (C4) Corvette. Together, hey made the upgrade package a Regular Production Order (RPO) which was the first time GM had outsourced such an option to a specialist manufacturer. It even had a factory back warranty. All cars were sent to Callaway’s facility in Limerock CT and were outfitted with the Twin Turbo package. The total cost of the upgrade was $20,000,which was comprehensive and used over 2000 new parts!

Finished in a rich Bright red paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Distinguishing itself from other corvettes were the dual Naca ducts on the hood to feed air directly to the intercoolers. Both the front and rear body colored bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body with only minor scratches upon closer inspection. The optional Greenwood rear wing looks good along with all the “Callaway “badging. The shadowline trim is present and in excellent condition. The weather stripping is in good shape with no visible fading, rying or shrinkage. The 17-inch period correct American Racing alloys.

Inside, ptional tan leather “Recaro” style bucket seats are in great condition with an acceptable amount of wear areas considering the age of the car. The matching tan door panels, arpet and dashboard are a compliment to the striking red exterior of the car. All gauges are ergonomically placed, ave correct appearance and function (digitally) as originally designed, owever, il tempature gauge is inoperable. The previous owner opted for the tasteful wood grain package for the interior. Heater and air conditioning function as designed, long with the power seats, ower windows, ower antenna, nd Delco/Bose AM/FM stereo. The original equipment tilt-telescope, eather wrapped steering wheel with leather dashboard adds to the sport car look and feel. Included are the Corvette owners manual and Callaway Turbosystem operating booklet.

This C4 Corvette comes equipped with 345hp/465lbs-ft 350cid V-8 engine, allaway Twin Turbo V8 engine mated to a 4+3 -speed manual Nash transmission, imited slip differential, Z52 sport handling package- which included, radiator boost fan and heavy duty radiator, ngine oil cooler, ilstein shock absorbers, arger front stabilizer bars, 3:1 steering ratio. 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS (anti-lock braking system)and silver centered American Racing 17 inch light weight alloys wrapped in performance radial tires.

This Callaway Twin Turbo provides all the styling and “Supercar” performance that any baby boomer or person in their 30 or 40’s who had a poster of this Callaway on their walls growing up, ould want!… GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 28,590, hich is believed to be actual miles according to the car’s clean & clear South Dakota title.
