1950 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Frame Off Restored Original

Muscle Car Garage:

We are a private collection of 60's and 70's muscle cars. We also do restorations in our two locations in the Jacksonville and Orlando area. From time to time we decide to offer one of our collector cars up for sale. Our vehicles are usually full "nut and bolt" restorations and are the quality of a regional or local show car winner. Many of our cars are previous trophy winners. We are not dealers just car enthusiasts who have been collecting cars for years and performing restorations to the level of regional show car quality. We are not a concourse restorer, and many of our cars are trailered to events but most vehicles can be driven if you choose to do so.

All Around Details:

Up for auction is our prized 1950 Chevy 3100 Farm Truck. This truck has been restored over several years and both the cab and the bed were removed from the chassis for a frame off restoration. Everything is either new or restored on this truck. Frame was media blasted and then painted in chassis black. Cab and bed were also taken down to themetal and all rust was repaired with metal, truck was primed, and then finally painted in an opaque Sea Mist greenwith Emron. Engine is the original 216 Thriftmaster coupled to a three speed manual transmission. Both engine and transmission have been rebuilt. All exterior chrome, trim, and emblems are new. Interior was gutted thensanded down and painted a contrastingmetallic gray. Bed has been restored with newwood and stainless ribs. Tires are newwhitewalls with steelies and chrome trim rings and bullet lug nuts for a coolvintage look. Truck has been lowered for a cool stance. New wiring harness was installed and all gauges and lighting work as they should.

Exterior Details:

Cab & bed were taken off the frame and chassis. Both were taken down to the metal and all areas of corrosion were repaired with metal and very little filler. Truck was painted in Sea Mist Green Imron and is periodcorrect opaque with no metallic. All chrome, stainless, trim, and emblems are new including, grille, front & rear bumpers, hood and fender emblems, outside door handles, wipers, headlights & taillights, mirror, tailgate chains, etc. Truck also has vintage cabvisor for an even cooler look. All glass is new as well as all seals, Truck has period correct steel wheels with trim rings and chromebullet lug nuts. Tires are new and are true wide whites made by Universal Tire Company. Bed is finished in wood with a darker stain and stainless bed rails. Truck also has custom tasteful pinstripping in refrigerator cream to match the steel wheels. The pinstripping was done at the tailgate, outsidebedbraces,around the cab and at the fresh air vent on the passenger side. Truck has been lowered with a combination of front & rear flip kits and adjustableair shocks. Truck has a very cool stance and looks absolutely beautiful..........

Interior Details:

Interior has been completely redone. All was gutted down to a bare skeleton. All metal was sanded, primed, and then painted a tasteful gray with a little metallic in it. Seat was reupholstered and door panels and headliner are new. Gray carpet wasput down over sound deadening materialin lieu of the rubber mat. Gauges were all restored andboth window regulators,weatherstripping, and window channels are new. Door handles and window cranks are also new. Original steering wheel was restored but is not perfect and still showing some hairline cracks. (but no gaps)

Engine Bay & Mechanical:

Motor is original 216 that was rebuilt about three years ago with very little mileage since. (less than 1000 miles) Transmission was also rebuilt along with the linkage and is the correct three speed manual on the column shift. New clutch was also put in during the restoration. Everything under the hood is new or has been restored. All fasteners are visible as new.Starter,fuel pump, all hoses,and distributor are all new as well as a new 12 volt alternator system in lieu of the old 6 volt electrical system. Radiator was professionally restored by a local radiator shop and including rotting it out, and pressure testing the new core. Fuel tank was restored with POR 15 kit and all fuel lines are new. Original carburetor was rebuilt by alocal professional carb rebuilder. Inner fenders are newand firewall was sanded down and paintedto match exterior color and inner fenders tomatch the chassis. All front suspension is new as well as new shocks at all four corners. Complete new period correct wiring harness was alsoinstalled.Both front & rearbrakes were rebuilt including all new lines, hoses, and master cylinder. Truck has single exhaust that exits correctly at the rear. (no exhaust leaks)

In Summary:

This is a very nice frame off restored truck that is driveable and showable at your local & regionalcar shows and cruise in nights. Many hours, many dollars, and many parts went in to making this truck what you see today. It is not perfect but is an exceptional example of a 1950 Chevy Farm Truck. After several years of restoration and enjoying iton weekends and car shows, it is time to sell it and move on. Call me with any questions I have not addressed here in my description.
