1964 Chevrolet El Camino 283 V8 Automatic offered by Gas Monkey Garage with . ! Now when I first saw this truck there was something that stood out, the ’65 hood and grill! So after I checked the VIN and confirmed it was a 1964 2nd Generation truck built at the Baltimore MD plant with the 283 V8 and Automatic I knew I had to act quickly to secure it for the shop. And while this would be a great candidate for a full on custom build by Aaron and the Monkeys, the reality is our schedule is so full we can’t get to it so I’m offering it to you just the way I found it so you can enjoy this rare 1964 El Camino! The first thing I noticed was the fairly recent red paint job that shows well but was apparently a perch for Migratory Magpies or something as it was covered with bird droppings on the roof and left side. While most of it came right off with soap and water, there are still some remains that will need to be removed to reveal a fairly glossy finish that has some minor nicks and chips.(there are a few areas that have rust/bubbling such as the front left edge of the hood) SEE ALL PICS! The interior has been updated with what appear to be later model bucket seats and a matching headliner and door panels. The engine starts up, runs and rives well enough but will need some TLC (driver’s window is off the track) and to be completely serviced to ensure safety and reliability prior to any extended driving and DUE TO OUR FILMING SCHEDULE WE CANNOT PERFORM ANY ADDITIONAL WORK ON THIS CAR FOR YOU *** SOLD AS IS/WHERE IS*** under side pics reveal a fairly solid chassis with superficial rust present on most components (SEE ALL PICS).This Rare, Awesome 1964 Chevy El Camino will be seen on an upcoming episode of the hit show Fast N’ Loud and the winning bidder may have the option of taking delivery here at the shop.
