YOU ARE BIDDING ON A VERY RARE AND UNIQUE 1948 CHEVY COE WITH A HOLMES 515E WRECKER BED
IVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR A FEW YEARS IT ORIGINALLY CAME OUT OF OKLAHOMA ITS A SOLID TRUCK FOR ITS AGE AND IN GOOD CONDITION TO BE A WORKING TYPE TRUCK ALL OF ITS LIFE MOST OLD WRECKERS I FOUND WHILE LOOKING FOR THIS ONE HAD THE BEDS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR FOR MOST PEOPLE.OF COURSE THE TRUCK IS NEEDING A FULL RESTORATION OR LEAVE AS IS FOR THE PATINA LOOK OR IT WOULD MAKE A EYE CATCHING RAT ROD/STREET ROD EVEN THOUGH IT WOULD BE A SHAME TO DO IT THAT WAY AS HARD AS A COMPLETE ANTIQUE WRECKER IS TO FIND.FROM WHAT IVE LEARNED ON INTERNET AND TALKING TO SOME PEOPLE THAT HAVE DELT WITH THESE OLDER HOLMES UNITS THE NUMBERS ON THE SERIAL PLATE ON BED MATCH THE BED AS A 48 MODEL AS WELL MAKING THIS A FACTORY BUILT TRUCK .YOU CAN STILL MAKE OUT THE NAME AND CITY WHERE THE TRUCK CAME FROM ON DOORS. THIS TRUCK WILL RUN I HAD IT RUNNING AND DROVE AROUND MY PROPERTY WHEN I BOUGHT IT BEFORE PUTTING IT UP IN STORAGE FACILITY (ITS KEPT UNDER ROOF NOT OUT IN WEATHER) MOTOR RAN GOOD CLUTCH AND TRANS SEEMED GOOD IT HAS NO BRAKES I BELIEVE MASTER CYL. IVE HAD A TON OF CALLS ASKING BUY IT NOW AND RESERVE IVE JUST ADDED A BUY IT NOW FOR MY LOCAL ASKING PRICE OF 15,000.00 I ALSO WANTED TO ADD IVE GOT SEVERAL PARTS THAT GO WITH THIS TRUCK LIKE A BOX OF MISC VACUUM FITTINGS SWITCHES BOLTS ETC FROM ANOTHER COE AS WELL AS A NEWLY RECOVERED SEAT AND FRAME AND MATCHING DOOR PANELS ....ALSO IF PURCHASED I HAVE A COMPLETE FRAME WITH REBUILT MOTOR NEW CLUTCH GOOD TRANS. Ok after several emails on this truck as far as rust etc the cab corners are the only thing actually rusted out they both need replaced as do almost every one of the trucks that are unrestored the rest is just surface rust and there are dents and bumps etc from years of working as are with any old working truck as I said in original description the truck needs a full resto or do a rat rod theme or something similar if desired the truck does have surface rust all over as you can see in photos but the cab corners are the worst.....the motors has been rebuilt before I got it I did have it running as I said didn't try the factory tank though used a gas can this was several years back when I first bought it but should be no problem to get running again if needed. As of course it needs glass most of its cracked very cheap flat glass .... Like I said it's a old wrecker it was used not kept in garage and never worked but it is a complete factory built wrecker and that alone is something very hard to find in any condition .... As of today I'm out of room and this has to go I refuse to let it set outside and get in worse shape so my loss you gain I'm removing reserve next bid will bust it so bid to win high bidder owns it good luck to everyone and thanks for looking !!!!!!... I will help with loading this truck for transport or what ever else needed and if your within Few hundred miles I might be able to help with delivery
