This “409” won and comes with several NHRA trophies that it won during this time period. According to 2nd owner Roger Sortino, it won its class every single week, was raced with all factory equipment (including radio and heater), and motor was never once disassembled for blueprinting or balancing. In late 1963, Roger Sortino sold it back to the original owner Mike Kojedki who traded it in a year later back to Boardman Chevrolet.

- Roger then bought the car back again in 1990 and owned it for several years before selling it to 409 guru and renowned early 60’s Chevy restorer Ed Pogue in 2003. Pogue is a very well regarded restorer of ’58-’65 Chevrolet’s as well as a noted drag racer who claims many 1962 “409” trophies to his name. Pogue restored the 1962 Bel Air Sport Coupe to its excellent condition where Roger Sortino purchased the car back again.
