Description of 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

For 8 years a friend of mine spent every night, weekend and available dollar he could earn on this car build. Then as the years wore on, he got serious with his girlfriend and wanted to buy a house. At this point, the project was unfinished and needed the money. The car was the only object of value to possibly sell for a down payment on the house. So he sold the car to another gentleman who had to get a loan just to buy the car incomplete. I did not know the car was for sale. When I heard the car was for sale, I had a lump in my throat for 3 days thinking about the time and love put into this car. I located the gentleman who bought the car and told him if he ever wanted to sell the car - find me. I would buy the car in a minute. Later he contacted me and told me he had broken up with his girlfriend and was living in his garage. And needed some money for a down payment on a house for himself. After a 1 month of negotiation I purchased the car and and recommissioned the original builder to take on the project. After a long talk with his employer we came to agreement to allow him to finish the car. I felt he could finish the car after 6 weeks - it took 12 weeks. Upon completion, I was so proud and overcome with the lump in my throat again, I asked the gentleman proudly drove the car for a couple of weeks. Take his wife on a date, go to a couple shows. Show-off this fine work of art and mastership.
This is not a project car - it is built to the moon in every way. It needs absolutely nothing at all. This is a fully built one of a kind show car. It has under gone a complete (top to bottom) nut and bolt restoration (inside and out). I have driven the car just over 1000 miles since completion. Every part that was available to be purchased was acquired. All other parts were new old stock or the best of 3 parts cars. The chassis is from Arizona and has never seen rain or snow. I have a copy of the AZ title. I titled it in New York.
It is fully plated and has a molded frame with no filler of any kind has been added to the frame. It is all steel, 2 full sheets of 4x8 1/4 plate. All seams are completely welded and smoothed over. The frame is all powder coated, not paint powder coat, it only sticks to pure metal not filler. All suspension components are reinforced, smoothed, polished and chromed. The upper control arms are extenuated and the lowers are plated.
Every metal component on the car has been smoothed, polished and chromed. I mean everything, the exhaust, brake lines, trans cooler lines, windshield washer lines to name a few. There is $15,000 in plating alone. All polishing and prep was done in house. Thousands of hours were spent on chrome. What is not chrome is painted base coat clear coat or powder coated.
Engine is freshly rebuilt, 30 over 350, rv cam, edelbrock carb intake, completely balanced and zero decked, just over 500 miles ever. Rebuilt turbo 350, transmission engine and transmission are same paint code as the car. The chrome drive shaft and fully plated rear end, as I said before every thing is chrome.
Hydraulics set up is a 4 pump, 10 battery, adex front bump, 6 solenoids to the front, 4 to the rear, 1/2 blocks, #9 front pump heads, #7 in the rear, 60 volts to the front, 40 to the back. This set up kicks ass - it is super fast 4 switches 3 wheel anywhere anytime.
Stereo is 2 ma audio amps, 1800 watt to the 10" 2 voice coil sub, 800 watt to the front, components are a 6 disc changer under the drivers seat, mini disc alpine in the dash.
I could tell you about the car for days, it took 10 years to build and it was 55k in parts at a wholesale rate. I just won the scrap by the lake car show in Canada. If you are not familiar with the show, it is a very large low rider show, there are lots of pics on the layitlow.com site. I will post up a few pictures. I have many others and can send them to serious inquiries only. I will take 30k cash for the car or do a cash and trade. I would like a car, truck, ski boat that I can drive in the rain I don't have to sell the car and I don't need the money it has been complete for 2 years and I have had a great time with it. I will keep the car if the right price/trade does not come along. Any questions, call me (585)-233-3176 CALL PLEASE DO NOT TEXT. Shop phone number (585) 315-5224.
