Description of 1956 Chevrolet Nomad

You are bidding on a very nice 1956 Chevrolet Nomad project with its original 265 cubic inch motor, a 4 barrel carburetor and a 3 speed manual transmission. This is not a power pack 265 it originally was a 2 barrel car with an early 1960’s intake and carb. This is a NO RESERVE auction. The car has a clear title. A little Nomad history shows that in 1956 there were 7,886 Nomads built and they topped Chevys price chart at $2,608. The trim tag shows the original paint code is 703 Harbor Blue/Nassau Blue with trim code 591 blue. When the original owner was in the service in the early 1960’s he was stationed in Hawaii and had the car shipped there. It was brought back to the mainland in the late 60’s and painted black and white and the seats were correctly recovered in black and white, the original steering wheel was removed and a black early 60’s Chevrolet wheel put on. It was last licensed and on the road in 1971 and stored since. I was told the engine and transmission has had a recent overhaul. This is a very nice original car with lots of potential and TLC. The car was running 3 months ago when the previous owner decided to restore it and took it into a body shop. The car was disassembled and the back half media blasted. The old floor was removed and a new one piece was put in place but not installed. The owner thought the cost was too high and decided to stop the restoration and sell it. It still needs the cargo area floor replaced or patched. The car has its original doors, tailgate, lift gate, hood, glass, front and rear seats, side and rear glass, top bows, original push button radio, interior trim, outside trim, wheels with full size hubcaps. All the stainless steel trim is labeled to show where it goes. I tried to take pictures to show everything. It is missing the radiator, windshield (broken when removed), and the front bumper is missing the bumper guards. The winning bidder needs to make a $500 none refundable deposit within 48 hours of the bid ending and the balance is due in 7 days. Payment must be made by Cash, Cashier’s Check or Wire Transfer payable in U.S. Dollars. The Nomad is sold as is, no warranty is given or implied. All transportation costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. Please call 651-730-4447 for further information. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time because the car is for sale locally.
