Description of 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 150

Up for sale is my 1955 Chevy 150, of which only 11,000 were ever built. It's an older build completed in 1995 with the body being set off the frame when it was built. This '55 Chevrolet has a very clean and simple look but when you look under the hood you will find a high performance Tonawanda 502 power plant coupled to a turbo 400 transmission. The car has less than 1,000 miles since completion. For the past 20 yearsthe carhas only been briefly driven annually and then stored undercover in a heated garage. Absolutely no rust.

When you look at the body you can appreciate the hours that were spent making this car better than when it was new. This being a 150 it didn't have a lot of chrome and with a body this nice there is no need for it. Down the sides it's laser straight with very good gaps around the doors, hood and trunk.

This beauty features custom two tone paint with three coats of clear lacquer and four coats of clear urethane over blue pearl paint on the body and star pearl on the roof.

On the inside it's finished to look stock with the bench seats and factory looking dash and steering column. The seats and door panels are blue and gray 150 style with the black carpet and a gray headliner. When you look at the dash it is old school with added oil, water and volt gauges along with a column mount tach.

Hi there my name is Mark I'm from Perth Western Australia I'm interested in your chevy you have for sale if your can email with some details where the car is why has it been in storage for so long and mybe some other pics.

Hi MarkThank you for your email.I have added 10 additional pics from the 1990 build of the body and chassis. The car is located in Whitefish, Montana. As to storage it is like this. I bought my first 55 in 1964 worked on it a year and almost finished it when it caught fire and burned up along with my parents garage.
My second and third 55's were both stolen and then I moved to Hawaii and took up surfing, sailing and golf for the next 30 years. In 1989 I bought a home here in Whitefish as an alternative to ever more crowded and expensive Honolulu. The home came with a lot of land and a 3 car garage. So, it seemed like a good time to try and finish my 55 Chevy project from 25 years earlier. I purchased the car minus drive-train in 1990 and completed it in around 1995. Still living in Hawaii and busy with a new wife I did not spend much time in Montana until we moved here in 1999.
I was 16 when my first 55 burned up and in 1999 I was 51 and discovered I had lost interest in cruising the high school in my 55 and for that matter I did not enjoy car shows all that much either so the car was driven very infrequently and only in the short Montana Summer perhaps at most 50 miles a year.
We are now only part time in Montana and in other places for more then half the year so it is time to sell the extra vehicles which includes a 1991 Limited Edition Sturgis Harley with less then 3,000 miles on it and another 55 Chevy all fiberglass Sedan Delivery with no miles on it, well you get the idea too many toys too little time. My caretaker Tom did and still does an excellent job of maintaining our home and vehicles so they are not just sitting and deteriorating.
I hope this answered your question.
Regards Steve
