Description of 1958 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100

Truck History

I restored this truck together in the early mid 1990s. To tell the truth I never really drove it much as I always had another project or commitment, so now is the time to let it go.. This truck always kept in a garage from the time it was completed around 1993. When I bought this truck for restoration, the man I purchased it from told me he was the second owner.

Mechanical

Under the hood it has the original 283 engine, which was rebuilt during the restoration. A few years ago just for fun, I replaced the original intake with one from a 327 and the carburetor with a Holley 600. The original Rochester 2 Barrel and oil bath air cleaner come with the truck. It has the original points distributor and A/C Delco generator. It has the original radiator (recored) and fan shroud. The truck has the original three speed on the column transmission and original rear axle. It has the original drum brakes on all four corners and the front axle had new kingpins installed when it was restored.

To put this truck back to 100 percent mechanically original all you would have to do is take the four barrel off and replace it with the 2 barrel. I’m including everything to do this in the sale.

Interior

Inside, the truck as a reupholstered seat that was the truck was restored. It is in very good condition with no rips, tears, etc. The headliner is the one installed in the truck back in 1958 and is very fragile, but looks very good for its age. The instrument panel is the original one and the radio is a 1980s shaft model playing through the original speaker. It has a reproduction floor mat.

Exterior

It is painted Corvette yellow. There are a few imperfections in the paint’s finis, but that can be expected in a truck painted 20 years ago, even one that has been garage kept like this one. All the bed wood looks just as good as the day it was installed. The truck is thoroughly undercoated – this is the undercoating we did during the 1990s restoration. . All the chrome bumpers, grilles, and emblems were replated when the truck was restored. All the doors shut nice and tight. New weather stripping, window felts, etc were installed on the truck when it was restored. The truck rides one “wagon wheel” chrome wheels that show some minor surface rust from age. The tires are in good shape as the truck was not driven much.

Terms of sale

Do not bid unless you intend to purchase. I encourage anyone who is serious about buying the truck to schedule an appointment and look at it. The truck is sold as is. A $500 deposit via pay PayPal is required at the time of the sale. Cash or cashier’s check only. I am not interested in any trades.
