This is the story. Luther purchased this car many years ago. I have pictures of this car being used to tow there 1957 chevy drag car along time ago. About 10 years ago I am guessing Luther had the car restored Ithink in Maryland for some reason when restored he elected not to put the proper 396 and I think 4 speed back in. None of these question can be answered for sure because Luther is not with us any more. I own a restoration shop in Naples Fl and have been asked to help find another home for this car. As you can see in the pictures this is a beautiful car with many up grades The engine is a rebuilt 327 with a turbo 400 automatic trans. This car runs and drives very well and the work to the car has been done very well and with a lot of care.
