Got this 67 El Camino in a package deal from a divorce settlement. I have no use for it and looking to find it a new home. My starting bid is less than the car is worth in parts! I was told by the previous owner this was an original 396/4 Speed/12 bolt car. However there is no documentation to prove that.
Paint/BodyIn my opinion the paint and body are in poor shape. This is an original California car and came here to Washington 10 years ago. The car received an amateur Paint job in the early 2000's and bondo was used. The quarters need patches or replacements to be done right. The doors have some bubbles on the bottom and the fender bottoms need patches. Original SS hood has some rust in the front right corner. The rockers and frame are solid. Floors are fairly nice. Front pans are good, rear pans have two very small rust areas. The frame is the boxed frame and has no rot, just typical surface rust. Front window area and cowl looks solid. Rear tailgate is dented. Rear window area has some bubbling. Bed floor looks ok. All trim seems to be present minus the right hand bed molding. Doors and tailgate do not open. The windows do roll down but, trying to spray some PB blaster to get the doors and tailgate to unlatch. Car sat for a few years before I purchased it.
InteriorThis El Camino has factory 1967 Metal back buckets with buttons. They are in decent shape. I think there is a rip on the drivers bolster. The console is original and looks to be in good shape. Dash pad looks good. Some if not all of the gauges do work. I recently purchased a new ignition switch for it. Carpet is bad.
Engine/Transmission/Rear/WheelsThe El Camino has a good running 350 Engine. Previous owner said he had it built a few years back. I will tell you it has good oil pressure, does not smoke or overheat. Has a small exhaust leak. It also has Edelbrock intake, carburetor, and a new edelbrock fuel pump I just bought for it. It also has Mallory ignition and Sanderson exhaust manifolds. Radiator looks newer and appears to have the correct fan shroud. Transmission is a period correct Muncie 4 speed. Not sure if it is a M20 or M21. Has a hurst shifter and goes into gear easily. I was told this was a factory manual car and it looks that way. Has a non posi 12 Bolt rearend. 15x8 rally wheels.
I'm willing to personally deliver this car along the I5 corridor between Seattle, Washington and San Diego, California for a reasonable amount. Delivery to other Western States negotiable. If you are in the Midwest or East Coast the car will run and drive onto the transporter of your choice. This is a project car or desirable parts car if you are building a 66-67 and need 66-67 parts! I can part it out for more than the asking price.
