Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1962

1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Station Wagon. A great car that sits right, runs great, & turns heads everywhere it goes with a southern California style that is timeless and traditional. An unfinished project left open for a new owner to make it their own yet still draws as much attention as a high dollar finished car or truck as it cruises down the street or is parked at a car show. The coolest proof recently was getting picked by steve Anderson for the Honest Charley Wide Whitewalls award at the Goodguys Nashville nationals in april. The chassis is mostly stock with the addition of power disc brakes up front and 2" drop spindles and cut springs to get the car to stop right and sit perfect. Rolling stock are Wheel Vintiques 15" chrome steelies with spider caps rapped with Coker Classic bias ply tires for the perfect big and little combination, stance, and attitude. I do not know the history of the car other than the six years I have owned it after purchasing it for my wife. As far as I know the 283 small block and two speed power glide transmission are original to the car. Other than changing the spark plugs, plug wires, and the oil nothing has been done to the motor or trans. Simply no reason to. It has ran great and has taken us to all the local car shows with multiple road trips to some big shows as far as Indianapolis and Nashville. The interior is unfinished. No headliner or carpet and the seats show their age with several rips and tears. Nothing some Mexican blankets couldn't fix. The heat and gauge cluster does not work. No air conditioning or radio. This is still a project car after all. New custom wood grain door panels were made to add to the surf wagon look. New door lock pulls, window cranks, and arm rests finished them off. All that is missing is forgotten about when you roll down the windows, cruise down the road, & watch all the heads turn. The paint & body is in decent shape, but shows that this car is a driver and not a trailer queen. There is no denying or hiding the fact that there is some body filler in the car. I believe this car was painted several owners before me to flip but it has held up well with a great shine and definitely the perfect color choices. The worst damaged panel was recently replaced. A rust free tailgate was painted and installed just few months ago. I fell in love with the car as soon as my wife showed it to me and I decided to over look the flaws that all old cars have and focus on the great things about it. The addition of the roof rack and vintage skis with the great colors, timeless wheels and tires, and perfect stance make this car great and fun to own. Ready to cruise as is or capable of being taken to the next level by a new owner with a finished interior or air ride system. A cool car ready for a new owner to make great memories with family and friends just as me & my wife have done. Call or text me with any questions. I am an open book about this car. I am not trying to hide anything. I want the new owner to become a new friend and fall in love with the wagon just like me and my wife. Call or text me for anything.
