Sometimes the best show car is really a truck. This extremely well done 1968 Chevrolet C10 has the right look, upgrades, attitude, and performance-built V8 to be a an attention-grabbing machine. We often see classic Fords carry Chevy engines, but this time it is a bit reversed. The electric blue and sparkling white two-tone paint was created utilizing modern Ford colors on this Chevy. For a superior paintjob to be on a pickup, the body needs to be as straight as this one, because imperfections from this professional respray have no place to hide. It's a rare find on vehicles that were intended as workhorses, and this one has plenty of pictures showing the big investment in restoring this long bed truck. From the shiny bumpers, to the delicate trim, to the bold grille, all of the brightwork gives this C10 an upscale look. And of course, the real wood truck bed is a premium touch when the lumber looks this good. No body modifications, no cowl hood, and no questionable graphics... just a solid, straight great old pickup in a great color combination. But there is one piece really hints at another purpose. The five-spoke Supreme sport wheels with aggressive Mickey Thompson tires suggest there's some big performance ready to be unleashed (more on that in a moment.)Inside the investment was all about making this pickup premium, comfortable, and pleasing to the eye. It starts by coordinating with the two-tone exterior color on the white vinyl seats with comfortable blue fabric inserts. It also matches on the door panels, dash, and roof for a true uniform appearance. You get a Chevy sports steering wheel, and beyond that, is a full set of white-faced gauges, including tach. Because you have room to carry at least two more people, this truck wants to keep everyone comfortable with an updated AM/FM stereo that has a vintage knob-style appearance, but it's adaptable for modern music players. And of course ice-cold air conditioning is always a welcomed addition.Under the hood is where it really sizzles. It's a 283 cubic-inch V8 that's been built to impress. Every inch of this small block Chevy was made to shine the flame-kissed air cleaner, valve covers, pulleys, compressor, master cylinder, radiator shroud, and even the piping. Plus, the wiring is extra tidy and/or has been hidden so that the full package is ready to take home awards. But this truck wasn't just built for show...It was also made to go eat the streets. Evidence of this is the bored .60 over kit, Quick Fuel carburetor, and performance intake. The big power package is finished off with long tube headers that also contribute to the sweet rumble out of the dual exhaust. Best of all, there is only about 600 miles on this full build, including the V8. To understand how complete and clean this C10 is you can pour through the restoration receipts and pictures, but really we suggest you just stick your head under the truck. The powder-coated frame looks fantastic, and you can see the trailing arm rear suspension that makes this generation truck ride far more comfortable that the rest out there. In fact, it's really built for show and go thanks to comfortable features such as power steering, independent front suspension, and front disc brakes.This is a truck that has real aura of authority at first glance.
