Description of 1939 Chevrolet Other |
This car belongs to a customer of mine. He has gotten up in his years and it's time to sell his street rod. The car is a 39 chevy coupe. He has had the car since the mid 90's and over the time has update both the motor and transmission. The engine is a gm crate zz3 motor with about 7000 miles on it and it has been maintained over the top with oil changes every spring and tune up and coolant service every fall. the transmission is a 350 unit also purchased fom the gm dealer new in a box it has about 10000 miles and is serviced every 2 years even if the miles don't pile up. I just had the alternator rebuilt about 3 weeks ago. The car has always been in a garage and it shows. There is no rust on this car. It was painted in the early 90's and other than a few chips it shows very well. You can't see them very well in the pictures but it has pearl blue ghost flames over the front fenders and coming out of the engine cover trim and over the door they are so light you have to be ontop of the car to even see them it's pretty cool. The interior was done when the car was and even though it's a little old school it looks great and is very comfortable. The car has a full set of gauges and they all work as they should. The wipers have been upgraded to electric and work. There was a v-butt windsheild installed when the car was painted and like all the glass is it tinted. Some of the windows have some etching on them I will put up a couple of pictures. The car has an am/fm cd player and a power antenna that is recessed into the rear quarter on the drivers side and it works. The front end is a heidts mustang II with power steering and the rack and pump are bout 4 years old I add them when it became to hard for him to turn the manual steering. The rear is a 8 inch ford posi unit he can't remeber the gear set but I would guess it's about a 3. 55 by the way it run's and drives down the road. There are front disc brakes with wilwood aluminum calipers on them and a power brake booster. The door handles have been removed and it has a remote for door poppers to enter and to exit there's a button under the dash inside on either side plus a maual release in back in case of power loss. Under the car in the rear is a power port to charge the battery while in storage or jump start the car if your stuck. The trunk opens from a manual cable that is mounted inside behind the seat's easy to reach and the trunk is huge even with teh battery in there. The exhaust sounds awesome. it has flowmaster out to tips that sound like a megaphone really nice tone. I have been driving the car the last month or so just to work out any issues so far just the alternator had to be done and the a/c compressor started to cool the car then stopped so it may need to be changed. Thats been it so far I have taken it to 2 local shows and won a trophy at each with the car . It is mostly a steel car just the rear fenders are glass. If you are looking for a nice driving street rod this could be yours. I just had it at the adirondak nationals in lake George ny and it ran great. Ask any questions you need to make an informed decision and if you would like to see the car just let me know and we will set up something. Thanks for looking and good luck. On Sep-15-14 at 08:22:09 PDT. seller added the following information:I lowered the reserve this morning with that I hope some more bidding will take place. This is a great car to drive and you will enjoy it. I had it at a show on 9/14/14 in my local area out of 500 plus car they award the top 100 cars and this car went home with an award. 4 shows 3 top honors not bad for this 39 chevy. So if you are looking for a solid street rod don't miss out you will be kicking yourself over this one for years to come!! |
