Description of 1972 Chevrolet Corvette

This is a 1972 Chevy Corvette Big Block that has a recently completed, 13+ year frame-off restoration. I took my time restoring this car as I intended to keep it, but times and interests change and now it is for sale. There are 1900 miles on this restored car and all rebuilt and new components have 1900 miles as well. This has not been a rolling restoration. I have attended a few car shows (and won!), parades and cruise-ins and have really enjoyed it. This car gets a lot of attention at these events. It was easily the best Corvette at the local shows I attended.

Options are: 454 Engine (LS5), Automatic transmission (M40), Air Conditioning (C60), Tilt/Telescopic steering (N37), Power steering (N40), Deluxe black leather interior (404), Power Brakes (J50), Power windows (A31), AM-FM radio (U69).

The car has very, very good paint. Originally pewter silver (924), now mille miglia red (973). Paint is near perfect. Body has no issues at all. Looks very nice. T-Tops line up well as do the other body panels. This car is 9+ out of 10 on appearance.

Interior is Black leather. Virtually all new interior. New seat foams and upholstery, new door panels, dash components, everything in rear storage is new too, and has all been restored by hand personally. Very nice interior. Also a 9+ out of 10.

Engine is a rebuilt 454, LS5 with matching numbers. The engine is the one that came in the car and the numbers stamped on the block verify it. The carburetor and starter are original syle replacements, everything else I believe to be original.

Transmission is a rebuilt 400 Turbo-Hydramatic that came in the car. It has the original matching numbers on it as well.

The rest of the drivetrain and suspension has been rebuilt and all in perfect condition. Car looks as good under as it does everywhere else.

Everything works on the car. Everything. Gauges, lights, clock, factory alarm...all work. Power windows work well, go up and down as they should with doors open or closed. Headlamp doors open and close correctly as does the wiper door.

Has original size and type spare under car in original tub and the original jack and handle is in car storage compartment with T-Top storage bags and owner's manual.

This car has air conditioning that works well. New components and charged with R12 refrigerant. If you have ever driven a big block Corvette, you know that good A/C will double the days it will be comfortable to drive. I also installed heat insulation and sound deadener under the carpet in order to aid in comfort.

Everything has been rebuilt or new on this car. New tires, exhaust, battery, windshield, carburetor, gas tank, fuel lines, brakes, calipers (stainless steel), rotors, booster, master cylinder and new parking brake components, tires, tune up parts (wires, cap, rotor, points, plugs), radiator, water pump...virtually everything.

All in all this is a very nice restored big block Corvette with air conditioning that is turn-key, ready to enjoy. Car needs nothing at all.

If a bidder needs someone to inspect the car, there is a local Corvette club here, Show-Me Corvettes, and many of the members are helpful, know these cars and can inspect it.

If prepaid, I would be happy to meet at Lambert Airport in St. Louis and you could drive this car home. No doubts in my mind that this car is reliable. I have the means to ship this car if needed. It will cost less than $1500 anywhere in the U.S.. Car is located in Farmington, MO, 63640.

I have a reserve that is hundreds less than any comparable car that has SOLD on eBay and thousands less than the car that went for the highest amount. It is priced to sell.

I can be here virtually anytime for viewing. I have more pictures available to interested parties. Call or text 573-631-1941 if you have any questions. I love to talk old cars so don’t hesitate to contact me. Clear, cleantitle in my name in hand.I also have an indoor car cover that goes with the car.

I was asked if this car gets hot? No. It has the original fan and shroud and a new radiator. It has never gotten close to hot while I have been driving it. It has been very hot in the midwest this summer and no issues at all with this car.
