Description of 1970 Chevrolet C-10

We are proud to offer this beautiful old pick up truck at a NO RESERVE auction. The highest bidder will win. We say rare because. to our knowledge. there were only approx. 11. 00 of these LWB versions produced that year. Short wheel base step sides are quite common. however. a Long Wheel Base step side is not seen very often. One outstanding feature of this truck is the almost total lack of rust. There is a 2 inch square of front lower valence rusted out under the front bumper directly below where the battery sits. We believe the battery dripped and corroded this little space. Unseen. Could be fixed in an afternoon if you choose to do so. Otherwise there is no rust. Any scuff marks you may see in the photos have been cleaned and polished. For its age. this is a really clean vehicle. It runs strong and true. Has almost new tires on rally wheels. You will love the wood bed which is in very good condition with what looks like original hardware. The PO had the custom vinyl tonneau cover made and it looks sharp. The mileage is a mystery. Although the odometer appears to work. the dials are as follows: first white dial is a zero then the tan dials read 1568 then another white dial that reads 2 This could mean it only has 1500 miles or it could mean it has spun over and has 11500 miles. It is a 2 owner truck and an older couple who worked at a funeral home were the first long time owners. We live in a very small town and it is possible that the mileage is low. The second owner stated he only put a few hundred miles on the truck and i believe him. We are the third owner and have run it about 25 or 30 miles. Your choice. The truck is a reddish maroon color but we think it was originally gold from small clues. The newer paint job was fair and it has shiny places and flat places blending together. Still a gorgeous truck. A PO installed a sliding back window and a modern steering wheel. Camaro maybe?. The radio is not original and does work. Heater works. It has a 250 cubic inch six cylinder engine that runs great. It has manual steering and manual brakes with three on the column. The blue book NADA prices for this truck are approx. $7. 00 in poor condition. $13. 00 in normal condition and $33. 00 in pristine condition. You can verify those estimates for yourself.
