Description of 1971 Chevrolet Camaro

1971 Camaro High Performance Resto Mod
You are viewing a totally restored car with a focus on performance in all areas. The car was professionally built using the best equipment available. It is very quick and fast that offers excellent response in all respective areas. The build was started in 2009 and finished in 2014 with over 80K invested in the car supported with receipts of the build. 3500 miles have been driven since finished. The car started off as a good running car to begin with and was also a factory AC car.

Body/Paint:
The body is in excellent condition with a few areas of rust that were replaced with the body taken down to bare metal. Small patches in lower quarters replaced, floor and trunk pans replaced. The hood is a Goodmark steel with functional cowl. Seams on both sides of the grill were smoothed. Rear roll pan was also smoothed. POR was used on the entire underside with undercoating used. Multiple coats of primer were used with lots of blocking with the body being very straight. The paint is gun metal gray silver metallic base/clear. Wet sanded and buffed to a high gloss. The body and paint is beautiful. All new wiring throughout. Rick’s stainless steel 16 gallon baffled gas tank with built in tank pressurized fuel pump.

Interior: Restored using black leather. Seats are 2002 Camaro heated with bladder and driver’s side is power. The door panels have been mildly customized with speakers and twitters. Rear quarters have speakers as well with two kicker sub woofers in the trunk. High end stereo system that sound awesome. Eight speakers total. Equalizer and amp with all speakers top of the line. 4K invested in the stereo system. CD/DVD/GPS/Blue Tooth and fold out screen. Cruise control, Flaming River tilt column, AEM under dash dual ban gauges, Fuel air ration both each engine bank as well as oil pressure (digital). Billet specialties leather wrapped steering wheel, rearview mirror with LED lights for map, outside temp and compass. Looks original, but aftermarket. All factory gauges rebuilt, 5 speed intermittent wipers. Factory AC set up totally rebuilt and blows cold.

Running Gear: GM 350 first Gen block, 4 bolt main. Factory roller cam block. Bored and stroked 383 ci, balanced and blue printed. Scat forged crank,4340 forged rods, forged aluminum piston, 10.8 to 1 compression, 6 quart Moroso pan, AFR 195 aluminum heads, stainless steel polished valves, Holley single plain multiport fuel injected with 1000 cfm throttle body, electric timing ECU Holley HP programmable FI with laptop plug in. Can be programmed while driving. Hedman ceramic coated headers, MSD computer controlled HEI ignition with MSD distributor, coil and 6A digital box with rev limiter, valve train is Pro Magnum roller tip roller rockers, high volume oil pump. Puts out approximately 500HP/ 480 lbs of torque. The engine is very strong and responsive. Be Cool HD aluminum radiator with dual puller fans rated for 650 hp. Transmission is a TKO 600 5 speed with McCloud clutch and pressure plate, new custom driveline. Rear end is a HD GM 8.5 10 bolt out of a 1980 Trans AM with a factory WS9 option (rear disc brakes), 342 gears/posi/HD diff cover. They are very strong rear end like an older 12 bolt.

Suspension: Stock sub frame restored, Global West weld on sub frame connectors, upper and lower tubular control arms with adjustable coil overs, Viking dual adjustable shocks, 1 1/8 inch sway bar, Lee 670 series steering box blue printed for the car set up specs, new cross link, tie rods and idler arm, solid body mounts. Rear is Global West 2 inch drop leaf springs with Guldstrand front perch modification, Viking dual adjustable shocks, no traction bars needed with this modification. Designed for racing. Custom cross member transmission mount.

Bright work: All restored and polished. Head and tail light bezels are chromed.

Glass: All new tinted glass.

Exhaust: 2 ½ inch pipe with cross over using Flow Master 40 series low profile mufflers.

Brakes: Front stock Heidt’s spindle with C5 Corvette hub and calipers, brakes and 13 inch rotors slotted and drilled. Rear is stock rebuilt WS9 Trans AM disc brake set up with E brake functional.

Wheels/Tires: American Racing Shelby polished aluminum 8x17 front 9.5x17 rear. Tires are Toyo Proxies 245/45/ ZR 17. Rears are 275/40/ZR 17
