This 1949 Chevy 5 window 1/2 ton shortbox Pick up truck is a very nice RARE survivor! It has a amazing patina . It is the original paint burgandy, still showing through .It has a very solid body overall and when i first bought this, I was debating painting it. I decided against that as I really love the original look on these trucks and I figured that if I ever sold it, the next buyer can see exactly what it is. I really videoed and pictured it well to show any flaws etc ( I saw a slight crease in front of driver door from when at one time it must have flew open and bent it a bit, small touch up along bottom of doors, normal dings patina etc) so make sure to really study the video and pics to get a great appreciation of the overall condition. It has a chrome grill, rare era correct blue glass Roof sunvisor, and the interior dash and door panel have been painted. The 235 engine runs great with no knocks smoke or misses. We did a complete tune up when we got it with points plugs condensor etc. The 6 volt system was bypassed to a 12 volt (original wire harness still there but needs to be rehooked up to take it back 6 volt) The truck drives down the road as the video shows and shifts all gears like it should. We hooked up the lights so you can enjoy driving it if it gets close to the end of the day. It had a new master cylinder installed, the front brakes are hooked up and and stop the truck fine for our country roads, but rears (all there) should be done. Like the video shows, this truck drove and rode great down the road and shifted all gears like it should. I had it up to 45 mph comfortably. It is a absolute blast to drive this truck around. The original wood in the box was rotted so I replaced it with a sheet of plywood. The floors on the truck are VERY SOLID and the seat is the original seat as pictured, i put a seat cover over the lower springs which worked fine but it should be reupholstered. It is running off a aux gas tank now as original should be cleaned out before using. The doors open and shut but the driver side needs adjusting as when you close it, you have to lift it some to shut it. The glass has some cracks here and there as pictured. the windows go up and down with help but need lubing. This is a truck that is a great start should you want to restore it to a 40k level or tinker with it here and there and use it the way it is. The title matches the vin plate and ready for you to register. The license plates, plate toppers, and air conditioner cooler in the window do not go with the sale as they are part of my personal collection. I do not want to overcall it or undercall it, let the pics and video tell the story. I invite you to come and check out the truck by appointment or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you. I require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. as the truck is over ten years old, miles are sold exempt.I can help recommend shipper I have used in the past who have been very reasonable. If you have any questions, call me at 563 568 5111 or 563 568 1182. thanks and have fun bidding on this very rare nice running 1949 Chevy 5 WINDOW 1/2 ton shortbox pick up truck!
