Description of 1969 Chevrolet Suburban Ratrod

After a 31 year slumber under a South Texas carport, this 1969 Suburban is now ready to roam the streets again!
This Suburban is equipped with the original 250 CID Inline 6 Cylinder that runs as smooth and reliably as Day 1 and a 3 Speed Manual Column Shift that glides smoothly through the gears effortlessly and confidently every time. It has new plugs, a fresh battery, and oil change and the old points system distributor has been replaced with an electronic one assuring she comes alive at the twist of the ignition every time.
This Suburban does wear a weathered old coat of paint with scratches, fading, patina and wear and does have rust in the usual places-Rear Quarters, Toe Boards, Rockers, and Roof Beltline..
It is rough but complete and very driveable and roadworthy. It does have current Texas Antique Vehicle plates good thru 2018! It has ALL of its Glass and none of it is cracked, missing or chipped!
This is one of the infamous 3 Door Suburban models and all three doors as well as the two rear access doors open and close easily and the gaps line up well. The door hinge areas on the Suburban are not rusty and they are rock solid. No pillar rust on this one.
The Speedometer, Odometer, and Fuel Gauge are all functional as are the Wipers, Headlight/Turn Signal/Brake Lights and even a Goofy AM/FM Stereo and JBL Speakers. Its a pretty basic truck with no power steering or brakes but it is remarkably easy to steer and drive and the truck stops well. The front seat is present as well as Original spare and rear seatbelts. The rear seat was tossed out long ago and I dont have it.
This Suburban is a crowd favorite at local cruise-ins and small shows due to its rough and ragged appearance and sticks out like a sore thumb in row after row of perfectly restored show cars! Heck, use it to tow your flawless show ready Vette, Chevelle, or Camaro for a contrasting duo package sure to leave people scratching their heads!
Drop it, Slam it, Air Bag it or use as is, the possibilities are endless. This really is a remarkable find and if I didn't have kids in college I was gonna cut the spring coils front/back, put a roof rack on it, a fat set of radials with Rally wheels and smooth caps and cruise it as is!
Has a Clear Texas Title. This Suburban isn't perfect, its rusty and crusty, dull sun beat paint and scratches, but its surely unique and a throwback to a way simpler time! This is so bare bones, basic and unattractive that my teen kids wont ride in it, and even my wife will only ride around with me with big dark sunglasses and a ballcap so people in town wont recognize her BUT, it puts a BIG Smile on both our faces every time we take it out!
