1966 Corvette 427 425 L72 Coupe Listing my 66 425 coupe. Ive had this car for about 4 years. Purchased it from San Jose, where it was sold new at Bob Coyle Chevy ( have ncrs shipping report). The car was in the San Jose area its whole life up until the last 4 years. The car is a good driver. Something that is good for cruise nights or local shows but not a national show caliber, trailor queen. A " five footer". Paint has imperfections here and there. Im not a corvette body professional, but it appears at some point the front surround has had some work, possibly fenders replaced. Has stress crack near headlight. As with any car, if possible its always best to come look first. My reserve reflects any and all shortcomings on this car. Mileage shows as 31k actual but Im selling as Exempt due to the fact that I havent owned the car since new so i have no way to tell. The car is originally a red car with black interior ( see pics of trim tag). It was power windows, power steering and brakes. Knock off wheels and side pipes round off a pretty desirable set up. It is a pretty correct car as far as major components go. Not 100 pct correct, but has alot of the correct, important parts. The engine has vin stamped and correct IP suffix code, but the engine pad has the last two digits switched, i.e. the cars vin ends in 213, and the stamp pad ends in 231. The rest is the same (see pics). Im no expert, but this looks to be a real stamp from all the ones Ive ever seen and I would invite any expert to look at. Dates and component numbers are as follows:* Engine block casting number 3869942, cast , pad: T1103IP 6105231* Muncie trans 3885010 P1029 S6105213* Heads 3873858 J 2 5 and J 4 5* Intake 3885069* Bellhousing 3872444* TI distributor 1111093 6 A 3, late for a Nov car but is correct 093 with original band* Exhaust manifolds 3860827 H 19 , 3880828 H 13 5* Carb Holley 3247 2592, correct carb, service date* Starter 1107365 5 J 1* Rear end FB 09 30 65* Alt has no stamps whatsoever. Original delco* Water pump 3856284 J 14 5* Have original 427 radiator, but has new DeWitts factory black radiator installed*TI box 1115005 The car was ran with a 350 small block for many years, the 427 had damage on one of the pistons (have pics) I had it completely rebuilt. Has factory crank. I had new side pipes installed. Heads rebuilt. Carb rebuilt. Rear end gone thru as well. All of this was done recently and the car hasnt been broken in yet. Rebuild has about 2 miles. Fires right up, but as with any fresh rebuild it will need some dialing in. Shifter seems to need alittle adjustment as well. This isnt a 100 point factory correct or a perfectly restored car. But it does have the majority of the high dollar components and is a good looking driver. It is a solid California car as well. My reserve is set very fair for what the car is. Im in the process of thinning my collection so Im not interested in any trades. Id like to make some more room, but if it doesnt sell then thats fine too. Ive really been on the fence about even selling the car. I encourage serious perspective buyers to ask questions and come view the car in person. Car is sold AS IS where is with no warranties or guarantees of any kind. This is a 50 year plus old vehicle. I reserve the right to end the auction at any bid or cancel any bids from zero or low feedback bidders if contact hasnt been made. More pics to be added. Transportation is the buyers responsibility. A $1000 deposit is due via paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Balance is due via bank wire or cash within 7 days of the end of the auction. Car and title doesnt move until funds have cleared. No exceptions. Please do not bid unless your funds are in order to pay for the vehicle. Thank you.
