Description of 1969 Chevrolet Corvette

Hi,thanks for visiting my auction, Up for sale is a incredible 1969 Chevy corvette convertible 427 cid 400hp tripower. I have decided to sell this car to make room for a new acquisition. This is a super nice older frame off restored car for the serious collector. The frame off restoration was completed in the early 90's and was the cover car used on Tom Falconer's book " Original Corvette 1968-1982"(The book will be included in the sale) published in 2001. This is a multiple NCRS top flight award winning car. It has scored as high as 98.9 at chapter, regional and national events. It is also the recipient of a NCRS founders award. This car has a no hit body documented by restoration photos from the early 90's. It has the original 427/400 3X2 carb motor, casting # 3963512, cast f 30 9 (June 30th 1969). The original engine stamp reads T0710LN, Tonawanda, July 10th, 427/400 automatic. It also has the original THM 400 transmission with the CL code. Transmission # 550 built the 185th day of 1969 (June 1969). The differential is a AW code (427HD posi 3.08 ratio) dated 8/13/1969. I have the original tank sticker (see photo) documenting the options of:
  • soft-ray tinted glass
  • auxiliary hardtop
  • positraction axle 308ratio
  • power brakes
  • 390-hp turbo-jet V8
  • 390 to 400-hp equipment
  • turbo hydro-matic
  • side-mounted exhaust system
  • power steering
  • F70 x 15 white stripe tires
  • audio alarm system
  • am/fm pushbutton radio
  • am/fm stereo pushbutton radio
  • black leather trim
  • monaco orange
The tank sticker shows that this was a hard top car only when delivered. The original orange black hard top with the correct date is included. A saddle soft top was added later. I have ownership history from 1975 on. This car was delivered to DK Chevrolet, zone 11, dealer 227 in Downers Grove, Ill. in 1969. This vette was last painted in 1992 with lacquer. The paint is showing some wear. Specifically some bubbles on the body. The original black leather seat covers have some cracks and one small hole at the base of the crack in the drivers seat. The original door panels and dash pad are in excellentcondition. The chrome and stainless steel trim work are in very good shape. The frame is rock solid! The windshield frame (birdcage) is also perfect. Everything WORKS! All gauges, lights, radio, clock, horn, wipers, alarm system, key buzzer, even the fiber optics. The corvette has 4 excellent repro Firestone Wide O oval tires and the spare is the original Firestone tire. I have tons of paperwork including original corvette order copy, GK Chevrolet Inc window sticker,NCRS judging sheets, restoration photos, owners history, photos of other owners with the car, letters, canceled checks, owners manual and envelope, restoration receipts,a stack of 3 ring binders that will take you days to read!
