Call (561) 907-8405 Description: This is truly a fine automobile. SMOKE FREE. Has been my daily driver for two years and hasn't failed me yet. However. a regular commute of mine has recently extended. by an exponent. I had to buy something more efficient for my now THOUSAND mile somewhat regular commute. So. it is with a heavy heart that I am parting with my dear old Elky. It is a 1976 El Camino Classic. with fresh two tone paint (that still has a warranty against fading and cracking. should be in the glovebox. ) It has quite a few dealer-added upgrades which was a common practice back in the 70's. Dealer upgrades include air conditioning and electronic cruise control. The big draw. especially here in the south. is the AIR CONDITIONING! It was converted to 134a already when I got it (was sitting for some time in a family friend's storage unit) and all I did was charge it. Still blows cold. which is awesome. It blows hardest out of the middle vents. and certainly cold enough to keep the car cool in Florida. I checked the temperature at the vent with an IR thermometer and with the fan on low it blows out at 58 degrees. The paint is less than a year old. and it looks great. It's got some minor flaws but on the whole is smooth and shiny as you'll see in the photos. The controls for the A/C are on either side of the steering wheel. the left one controlling fan speed and the right one refrigerant flow. All the A/C stuff works fine. The heater/defroster works and is on a separate system. but I think it needs a new switch to get proper heater control out the center deck. I never use the heat so I just have it unplugged in engine bay. All the equipment and hardware is there for the cruise control. but it's been disconnected from the carburetor. If you wish for cruise control. it should be a couple hour job to re-enable it. The electronic control for the cruise control are on the turn signal stalk and are in good shape. The car is on the whole impressively rust-free. and still has lots of the original undercoat. What it doesn't still have I have supplemented with my own undercoating. There were a couple very small holes under the driver floorboard. but we treated it before it could spread. There's also a small hole under the "smuggler's box. which was dealt with similarly. I would also probably recommend replacing the driver side plastic tail light bucket. which is available new from ECM pretty inexpensively. The pass side one is in great shape. though. The car is structurally perfect. and I had no problem removing any nut or bolt when servicing the suspension. The interior is substantially original. with a replacement dash and a pioneer sound system. and speakers in the door panels. It sounds great. Interior is really nice especially given that its original. but the carpet under the floor mat on the driver side is a bit rough. There are also some marks on the right door panel from rolling up the window. If you're crazy about that stuff you may want to replace the carpet. but I never notice it and its not visible with the mat. Before driving the car 1. 00 miles. I decided to give the brakes and suspension all brand new everything. It's got freshly replaced:All 4 new shocksDelco pads. rotors. wheel bearings (front AND rear!). drums. shoes. wheel cylinders. proportioning valve. calipers. and more! Carb freshly rebuilt with new choke thermostat and it starts right up. easy. as you'll see in the video. Fresh alternator. It's also got a brand new set of tires. again with about 1. 00 miles on them. Completely re-greased all the grease points under the car. Does have a slight valve cover leak (as with all Small blocks. was going to put aluminum covers on to alleviate that but didn't get around to it. The car is solid. runs well. and stops well. Starts up first thing every day. goes where you want it to. and is ready to do it again tomorrow. I hate to say goodbye. but I hope someone will enjoy it even half as much as I did. If you want a classic car that's ready to go with no nonsense. this is the car for you. Car is located in Orlando. FL and can be seen in person by appointment. Any questions let me know. but I feel like I was pretty thorough between this description and the above video. I am the owner and of course the vehicle is as is with no warranty express or implied. I welcome any questions. Clear title is with vehicle. If you are out of state I am happy to arrange transport through u-ship. cost to buyer. (A great way to ship vehicles. they bid on your contract and you can choose the lowest cost option. )Please see video for full tour! Link: https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=N4BUPdQEYHI Questions?
