SHORTY
1963 CHEVROLET C10
Trucks, trucks, trucks!!!! It is what I love, and what I sell the most of! Why? Because you can actually USE them and enjoy them daily if you want, and they always get more attention at a cruise night than any car does!
Being in the South, I am lucky to find so many nice, solid, straight, clean, and rust free trucks as I do, and I enjoy driving them for a while and offering them to you on eBay at a discounted price before I send them to a collector car auction and get the same or more after all the fees are paid.
This particular truck was build right here in SWFL, and spent the last 7 years of its life cruising the West Coast of Florida as a weekly driver to Home Depot, cruises, car shows, and more.
First thing that grabs your attention on this truck is how incredibly straight, clean, and solid it is! The body is all steel, and all real from the front to the back, with NO beer cans, chicken wire, or other fake metal. Just GM steel all around.
Body panels are all dent, ding, and damage free, and the panel alignment and gaps are as nice you could ask for. Doors shut and open with ease, hood opens and closes without issue and lines up correctly, tailgate works perfectly, and all of the rain gutter channels are clean and solid.
The Garnet Red pain on the truck was laid beautifully, and is glossy, slick, and shiny as can be, and I have NOT professionally detailed the truck!!!! Just imagine how incredible it will look if you take the time to REALLY detail it from front to back?!?
There are really only a handful or so minor blemishes and marks on the entire painted surface of the truck, and they are all quite small in size, and really don’t detract from the overall presentation and appearance of the truck at all. I took detailed close photos of the entire truck in the 100 photos supplied, and you can see that none of them are even really noticeable unless you were crawling around under it on the rack or REALLY trying to nitpick. It shows even better in person than in the photos, and you will not be disappointed with it.
Chrome and bright parts on the truck are exceptionally nice, including the dual chrome mirrors, chrome bumpers, tail gate latches, tail light trim, exhaust tips, front turn signal pans, window visors, wipers, and tail gate aluminum rub strip. The only part that shows any issue is the antennae, and it has only light patina and markings from age.
Windows are in excellent condition, as are the fuzzies. All of the rubber seals and weather stripping on the truck is in exceptional condition too, with no dryness or rot.
A soft leather snap-on tonneau cover fits the truck perfectly and shows wonderfully too. It has bars along the length of the bed to allow water to drain off, and is clean, neat, and seals tightly.
Inside, the bed sides and wheel wells are painted to match, and show light marks from regular use as a truck bed. Same can be said for the bed wood and the painted separator strips. The bed has hauled everything from car show chairs to bags of mulch over the years, so it shows signs of use, but it is STILL quite pretty to look at, and wouldn’t take much more than a weekend to refinish to like new condition once again. Or you can use it like a truck!
Open the doors, and you are met by a clean, clutter-free interior designed for long-haul comfort and convenience.
Door panels are painted to match the body, with leatherette inserts and armrests on each side.
Original style door pulls work as they should and the passenger side locks as it should too, while the window rollers look stock, but actually make the power windows go up and down with a slight push in either direction.
New carpeting covers the entire floor of the truck automotive grade loop black, and it is stain, rip, tear, and damage free.
Chrome sill plates hold the carpet down, while polished aluminum inner rocker covers keep shoe marks off the paint.
A black factory look bench seat is in excellent condition with no issues, and has lap belts intact from three people.
Dash is clean, straight, and painted to match, and houses an original gauge cluster showing 39,924 miles on the working odometer.
Fuel gauge works, but the temp gauge has been routed to the auxiliary gauges under the dash for more accurate monitoring.
The dash lights work, as does the turn indicator lamp in the gauge cluster.
Original switches work the lights and wipers which operate as they should, and the add-on air horn, which is not currently functioning.
Stock steering column looks great and is topped by a 3 spoke wooden steering wheel that looks like new.
Behind the seat is the new fuel tank, which has the stock cardboard cover in addition to a black leatherette cover to match the interior.
An old looking radio actually has AM/FM digital tuning and add-on capability and sounds great through the dash speaker and twin kick panel speakers.
Under the dash, and array of gauges monitors TEMP/OIL PRESSURE/VOLTS accurately.
Vintage Air was tapped for a Generation III system that keep the truck chilly, even on a Florida summer day. It uses the factory control location, and is clean, neat, and installed beautifully. The system is all R134A since new.
A functional ashtray works as it should, as does the glove box, which holds and original owners manual and service reference.
The custom kick panels hold speakers, and were made so that the original vents would still function correctly.
The chassis on the truck is clean, neat, solid, and upgraded to be as modern and capable as you could ask for.
The original frame was fitted with front and rear sway bars. All new suspension components, new shocks and springs up front, and coilovers in the rear. Ride and handling is VERY modern, with none of the wallow and bounce typically found in a stock truck.
Front disc brakes work with the rear drums to bring the truck down from speed quickly and easily without any pulling, wander, or excessive fade.
A GM 12-bolt rear is fit with 3.83 gearing, which makes the truck perfect for around-town and short spurts on the freeway, but it is happiest around 65mph, so a gear swap would be in order if you want to make it a freeway touring truck.
P275/60R15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A RWL tires are wrapped around steel silver painted wheels with trim rings and caps for a classic look, and great ride. The tires, like the rest of the truck, only have an estimated 4,000 miles or so on them, and still look great.
Pop open the hood, and you are met by a clean, neat, and show-worthy engine bay. A GM crate 350/300HP crate motor was purchased for the build, and installed with a 350 turbo transmission. The motor is dressed from the factory with chrome valve covers and air cleaner, and it goes well with the added chrome alternator, chrome water pump, chrome fuel regulator, and more.
A new R134A compressor was installed during the build, along with a new radiator, power brake booster, and basically every other component under the hood.
It is clean, neat and worthy of opening the hood at a car show right now, and I have NOT formally detailed the car, so imagine how great it will look when you do actually clean it.
The truck starts quickly, idles cleanly, and runs smoothly.
Snick it into gear, and it is ready to roll wherever you want to take it.
The 350 trans shifts smoothly into each gear, and the truck gets to cruising speed quickly.
It stays right around 198-208 most of the time, and I have seen it go to 210 sitting in traffic on the way to the beach with the A/C on, but never more than that. I have put about 125 miles on the truck myself, and would drive it anywhere.
Exhaust sounds great, kind of like C5 Corvette factory exhaust.
Acceleration is spot on, and the truck can pass with the best of them.
It is a fun truck to drive and enjoy, but it is a true show quality truck too, and it turns heads at any event you take it to.
I guess that’s about it. If you want more info, call me at 941-286-0889 for fastest response.
