Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS

1968 Chevrolet Camaro SSFull ground up restore. all replacement panels used were from Year One and Goodmark. . Lets start with the drivetrain:1969 small block 350 stroked to a 383. Motor was done by Kellers Kustom Kreations. Eagle rotating assy. stock bore. Lunati cam and roller rockers. Cloyes hex a just true roller timing set. accel ignition. 202 valve heads with an edelbrock intake and carb. pushing out this perfectly balanced motor through a pair of ceramic coated headers and a 2 1/2" exhaust. The valve covers. nbsp;plug wire holders and air cleaner is the heartbeat theme and all aluminum. all the hoses are true braided. This wasn't done with the cheap chrome and covers. approx. 1k invested just in accessories under the hood. The trans is a Summit turbo 350 street/ strip with a B&M tork master 2400 stall. This all pushes to the ground through a 10 bolt rear end with an Eaton Center section and Moser axles with 308 gears. The motor is pushing approx. 435hp and brings the car out strong even with the high gears and isn't screaming while cruising while driving at 65 mph. The chassis has the front disc brake conversion with the rear drums. Every line for the motor. trans and brakes are new including the emergency brake cables. The driveshaft was balanced. and every brake part is new. The front end is completely new including springs and shocks. along with new rear springs and shocks. Every wire was replaced in the entire car with the new American Autowire assembly. from front to rear and under the dash. being done very neatly. better than original. Now for the body:The car looked good when I purchased it. then we started to get into it. As I said it looked good but wasn't done right so we started breaking it down. Well needless tosay it went all the way down. the only panels we reused was the roof. firewall and inner rear quarters. Full floors were installed along with a full trunk pan. nothing was done partial or pieced in. The rear quarters were replaced with 3/4 panels so the original lead seams were saved. toe kicks and rockers along with dog legs installed. The tail pan and dash was installed and new rear valance then the reworked front sub frame was bolted up and the shell was placed on the frame machine and the rear frame rails were installed laser straight so the car would track perfectly straight. The entire inside and underside of the car was painted with POR 15 during the entire rebuild process so no area was missed by end of completion . The trunk drops. inner and outer wheel houses inner tail pan all have been protected. Every spot weld was drilled out and rewelded back to better than original. he welds are incredible and not the nasty splatters done from the factory. With the use of all Goodmark and YearOne panels. the lines and gaps on this car are better than the day it came from the factory. After the body was completely assembled and aligned every bolt on part was removed to be cut in with the final paint. then reinstalled. Then the SS stripes were painted to factory correct measurements done in House of Colour Black with a hint of blue pearl. Next came the overall paint which isBright Blue Pearl from House of Colour with another 4 gallons of clear shot on the car with it being wet sanded between coats. As you run your fingers across the stripes to the body color you will feel nothing. another incredible paint job from Ricks Rods and Customs. Also the trunk has been spatter painted back to original. After all the wet sanding and buffing. they installed all new emblems. handles. key locks. bumpers including brackets. glass and felt beads. The signals. rear lights. headlights grilles are also new from GM classic including the gaskets. Then all new glass and chrome trim was installed to make every part installed brand new. They have an incredible interior man that then replaced everything new inside. seat springs and covers. carpet. headliner. dash pad. The gauge cluster is the original as is the center console. otherwise everything else has been replaced inside including the SS wood steering wheel. I have not installed a radio to this time as I haven't found one that I decided I liked enough to put in and since I don't drive the vehicle it hasn't mattered to myself. I was planning on replacing the instrument cluster with the tic toc tac and have the gauge package installed on the center console but it hasn't been done yet as ive lost interest in the car and started an older ford pickup restore as I like the trucks better. This car is 95% complete whereas I haven't installed a new instrument cluster. radio or wiper motor and blades. the arms are new under the cowel though. I haven't spared no expense during the rebuild of the entire car and could be finished for about 1500. 00 with the new gauges. radio and wiper motor but like I said ive started another project and only put about 250 miles on the car over the last 2 years since its been completed. I have just over 47k invested into this car to this point and now decided to let itgo to somebody who will enjoy it instead of it sitting in storage with a cover on it like it did all last year. The car has been appraised at 45K and is insured for that amount. and if you have beenwatching the Barrett Jackson auction you will know its worth 42 - 45K. This is as close to new as you can get!!!!!Please notice I did have the windows tinted and they still are to help keep the sun from fading the interior. I will also help buyer if shipping is needed with loading from my storage area to thearraigned shipper they have at the buyers expense. Come take a look and inspect before you buy as this car is done right and should go to someone who will enjoy it instead of letting it sit. I don't need to get rid of the car as it can sit and it will only go up in value. nbsp;so no unreasonable offers. Reasonable offers will be considered and car is for sale locally so listing may end if sold. Any questions please email and 0 feedback bidders must contact prior to bidding. Deposit is required in 24hrs and payment due in 5 days from auction ending. Serious bidders only.
