Description of 1949 Chevrolet Other Pickups 1/2 ton short bed

Great old pickup, Actually is a '49 GMC. Runs and drives quite well, and is really fun to cruise around, could use a power brake upgrade.I got this truck several months ago, with the intentions of finishing it to my own taste, and keeping it for cruises and occasional pleasure trips around, but changed plans, so have to sell it. Probably built in the late 80's or early 90's. Sheet metal very solid, not much rust, floors of cab have some rust, and should really be replaced.although they don't have holes. Cab corner on drivers side also has some rust at the bottom, but could be repaired easily. The fenders, hood, doors, running boards, cab, are all very solid. Windows roll up and down fine, and all the glass is good. The heater is not stock, and seems to work fine, I dont know what it is out of. The radiator is a copper/brass, cross flow out of something newer, and has a small leak at the top by the filler neck, looks like it could be repaired with solder. Frontend, and rear axle are from a 68-72 nova, the front frame clip was installed properly, the welding is pretty sanitary. Power steering. Manual drum brakes all around, with a rebuilt orig. brake master cylinder, also has all 4 new brake cylinders. Rearend is a 10 bolt GM, ratio is highway gears 2.60 - 2.80 not sure of actual ratio, with an open diff. Engine is a sb chevy probably a 350, not sure, engine runs strong with no oil leaks, has good oil press., No smoke, or knocking, and has edelbrock carb and intake, headers, hei distributor. The trans is a turbo 350 and works fine, with no leaks. The truck was rewired (12 volt) and is done properly, some of the lites need work however. The steering column is a tilt wheel with the ig. switch built in, and works fine. the orig. gas tank is in it but its cond. is unknown? I added the aux. tank in the bed as a temp. measure so the truck can be driven. The tires are old and not usable, however the wheels are old Keystone 5 spokes (8x14") Also included are 2 front tires and wheels, that are usable, that are on it now, as the old tires were so bad they couldn't be used. This is a great start on a solid project, with most of the hard work already done, however it should be considered a drive-able project, that will certainly need more work. No you cant drive this across the country, so expect to have to transport it, if it has to go any real distance. Buyer responsible for arranging, and paying for the transport, I can assist at this end. A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $1000 VIA PAYPAL, IS DUE WITHIN 48 HRS. FROM END OF AUCTION. The balance is due within 7 days from end of auction. The balance can be paid cash when you pick it up, or wire transfer to my bank prior to having it picked up by transport truck. I have a clear Oregon title in my name. I feel I have described, and photographed this truck well, but I would be happy to answer questions, but please ask questions before you bid. Bidders out side of the U.S.A. MUST SEND EMAIL TO GET APPROVAL BEFORE YOU CAN BID.
