Description of 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

This listing is for a 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air that requires total restoration plus extra parts and a parts car.

The main car:

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe. This car was disassembled prior to me obtaining it. The body is simply resting on the frame. The body itself is is pretty good shape. The left front fender is junk. I did obtain a left fender from a swap meet and it is inside the car. The floor of the car and the trunk will require complete replacement all the way back to the rear tail panel. The frame is in great shape. I believe it to be the 'California frame' as there is no seam on the top in the center section. THis car is a true Onyx Black Bel-Air Sport Coupe car!

The parts car:

I found this car for sale and pulled it out of the mud. It is basically junk including the frame. Why did I buy it? Lots of parts!!! The side moldings are in great shape. The dash is intact (gauges, etc), the steering wheel and column are intact with linkages and pedals for a column 3 speed. The engine in the car seems locked up but you probably wouldn't use the inline 6 anyway. You would be interested in the manual transmission complete with linkages to the steering column. Ebay picture services stopped me at 12 pictures. What is not picturedis a complete correct front seat (again it will require complete restoration). This car is a true Onyx Black with India Ivory White top.

Extra parts:

Over the years I've had the privilege to restore a few of them. There are some parts that came with the first car, the rest are parts left over from other cars over the years. It appears that I'm getting out of the restoration of these astime will not allow it. You may have the parts for the car and feel free to sell or trade them off. If you are not interested in them, you may simply leave them behind and I will find a local home for them. Also included is a complete (265) from a 1956 Chevrolet. The engine is locked up but it is complete so you will have exhaust manifolds, intake, heads or other items related to the engine that would be period correct. With that engine I do have mated to it an iron Powerglide. On the pallet next to it, I have an additional Powerglide and some extra Powerglide parts. Not pictured is a few extra parts in the trunk of the parts car and a set of 1957 Chevrolet hub caps.

Bonus:

Engine Run Stand. As you know, the modern run stands bolt up to the later side mounts. This one is set-up to mount to the early front mount. I purchased it just a couple of years ago locally and still have not used it.

Fine Print stuff:

Somehow or another the VIN tag for the main car is missing. If I come across it, I will gladly provide it. I do have the title in my name! The parts car has a VIN but does not have a title. I didn't bother to try and get one as it is a parts car. I have no problem providing a bill of sale for all that is included. Payment in person within 10 days of auction close by certified funds only. If you can't travel with cash, I will accept a check but the cars stay here untilthe checkclears. I do have a car trailer and may be able to help for a minimal fee if you are close. If you are not, please plan to provide your own shipping. I can assist in loading these onto your trailer. The cars and parts should be picked up in 30 days unless arrangements are made in advance. Please ask all questions prior to the end of the auction. I am willing to work with you.

Final Thoughts:

Between the two cars, you should have a mostly completecar excluding the side and rear glass. If you are new to these, Sport Coupe and Post cars do not share the same glass or glass moldings.
