1960 Corvette Conv. with Honduras/Honduras exterior with black ORIGINAL interior.
For you consideration is a fairly original 1960 FI Corvette with dealer-installed RPO 687 Big Brakes package.
I bought this car 24 years ago. I have not done anything to the car in preparation for this sale....what you see is what you get. No new paint, etc. to cover up imperfections. I take care of my stuff.
I'm selling now because my new "downsized" house will only take two cars in the garage. My 1963 Split Window gets one of those spots, and another C1 gets the other spot. This car has been stored in my garage all this time and has never seen weather. I drive it regularly and do all maintenance myself. I've never had the heads off the car in 24 years. I had a new clutch put in it about 20 years ago. I personnally have put about 10,000 miles on it over the past 24 years. I have done nothing to it in all those years. The engine is the original engine that came with the car when new. Transmission numbers match. Correct Original Numbers Matching 283ci Fuel Injection block. Rochester Fuel Injection is long gone. A Rochester 4-barrel carburator is currently mounted up to the engine.
Posi-Rear w/highway 3.70 gears.
Rebuilt Soft-top frame and latches...has new tack-strips already installed
Ready for new (new top included....includes new top pads...and complete new set of weather stripping...new hardware.)top.
All other components are 1960 correct such as engine chrome detailing, generator, radiator. It has the original 4-speed Borg Warner T10 manual transmission. Great running and The The interior is original and has all the correct gauges, door panels, carpet. Wonderbar radio option....still pulls in stations, but you have to use buttons to tune it. Original antenna. The heater fan still works and core does not leak. All of the gauges, wipers, headlights, turn signals, interior lights, work. Horns need to be rebuilt. You will look long and hard to find a 1960 corvette which runs this well and is so dialed-in!
Original engine runs strong. Starts right up. Runs cool, never hot.
Has original hub caps. Wheels mounted up with Coker Wide-White Radials....has unused matching Coker spare tire also. Orginal Jack. Original gas-cap. Newer battery. RPO 684 package mostly there (see drum/backplate/fan pictures....missing rear drums and rear fans).
This 1960 vette is turn-key. You can drive anywhere.....this car drives like new. One of the best running and driving C1 vettes out there.
Car looks great still. Chrome is OK. Stainless is excellent. Emblems are good. Paint is 30 years old, has some age imperfections, some chips, stress cracks in the usual areas. Its a great driver quality paint.
Investment quality highly desirable combination which can be enjoyed as-is or is an EXCELENT CANDIDATE for full RPO-687 restoration.
