Description of 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

Gorgeous, frame up restored example in most desired color combination of Signet Red, Snowcrest White Coves, and Red interior! number’s matching 283ci 2x4bbl 245hp V8 mated to 4-speed manual transmission! Sweet car in so many ways and an absolutely excellent driver!

Chevrolet was continuing a very successful Corvette model in 1958 with only a few changes to the car which included new fiberglass body panels that now included dual front headlights and integrated hood ridges. The trunk lid added chrome trunk spears, the grill lost 4 teeth now totaling only 9, and the bumpers were now stronger being bolted directly to the chassis. Inside, the gauges were rearranged with a new 160mph speedometer and centered tachometer, a passenger grab bar was built into the dash, two-piece door panels, and standard seat belts!

This gorgeous 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is finished in correct Signet Red accented by Snowcrest White coves and new Red Vinyl interior. Optioned include factory original, date matching 283ci V8-245hp engine with 2×4 Carter WCFB carburetors, 4-speed transmission, 3.70 rear axle ratio, dash tachometer, heater, courtesy light, whitewall tires, Wonderbar signal seeking AM radio, and white soft top!

Only 9,167 Corvettes were produced in 1958, of which just 1,897 were 245hp equipped units with a manual transmission, making them highly prized collectibles! This late production example was restored an estimated 10 years ago and continues to appear exceptionally fresh in person! The paint finish is superb on a no-hit body that possesses excellent fit and body gaps. Matching in quality are excellent chrome & stainless pieces, upgraded Coker Classic radial whitewall tires, new brake system, new fuel delivery lines, along with a detailed engine with correct GM hoses, clamps, fresh air ducting, 7-ribbed aluminum Corvette valve covers, heater core & gaskets, etc. It received new chassis rubber & suspension components underneath, but appears to have never had its body removed since it was born in June 1958. Having been shown more than driven these last few years so the carburetors have been recently cleaned & adjusted, along with new front wheel bearings & kingpins, new spark plugs & points, valve cover gaskets, and oil/filter change.

It drives with perfect ease! The engine response never falters; it travels effortlessly down the road, and keeps pace with everyday traffic making this a perfect summertime cruiser, and terrific Corvette investment! The dash clock is presently inoperable. All tire changing equipment and spare tire are present, as well as carpeted front floor mats. Although somewhat biased, we believe this is THE color combination to have in our opinion! Truly gorgeous! Please call with any questions, or to schedule your chance to view this vehicle in person.
