Description of 1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

One of the rarest Stingrays of the last year they were produced.........You're looking at a 1976 Corvette Stingray that was restored by an elderly gent in the late 90's and after his death in 2005 was only driven 500 miles til about a year ago when I bought it as his best friend had bought and stored it after his death and traded it in at the car dealer I work for... The guy was around 80 years old and said he just wasn't able to get in it anymore. I bought it from the dealership before he left the office.
History: In 1976 the Stingray made its final appearance in the Vette lineup. Of over 60,000 Stingrays made this last year of production only 2088 were standard shifts and very few of those had options......... This car is not only one of the 2088 4-speed cars but it has the super-rare tilt/telescopic steering wheel, air conditioning, power windows, and T-tops.... This Vette was one of the last through production as in late 76 they changed a few things such as the once stand up and down radio was turned down as todays. Also thebadging on this one is what started out the77 non-stingray lineup. The trans appears to have been redone and finished with a nice cast finish and engine/bell housing have been done in the original chevy orange correctly.... It appears to have had a starter replaced, couple calipers look new, the rail running across the rear end has GM stickers on it, there are no signs of rust underneath anywhere. Car runs, drives and looks great overall.... It's not a show car but it's in unbelievable shape for a Vette. I've went around it and haven't seen any stress cracks in the normal places which is unbelievable for a Vette. I did see a chip out of the bottom of a wheel opening but an easy fix if you wanted to do it(I choose not to as it's not bad)....
This car when I bought it a year ago had only had about 500 miles put on it since 2005... Since then I"ve put about 2000 miles on it trouble-free..... It runs good, drives good, stops good and is loaded with new parts. Since I bought it I"ve put 4 new Cooper Cobra tires on it, put new door latch assemblies in the doors, put in new battery and more. In addition I've bought everything for it I can find it needs such as I have new window switches to replace the ones that hesitantly work... bought a new blower motor that goes with it as the old one whines. Bought new door lock inner knobs cause the old ones were scratched... bought new door pulls for it as one was cracked.
Interior: Seats are excellent condition, carpet is excellent(needs a good cleaning), dash pad is excellent, door panels are good(minor cracking around couple edges but great for original) dash has been converted for CD player instead of shaft type radio.... the chrome dash bezel that has inlay painted black needs repainted in spots or clean it for total chrome...
Exterior... Minor chips here and there but very minor... no apparent stress cracks anywhere I can see, T-tops seal good,
Areas that need attention: I suspect there might be a bit of a vacuum leak as when you turn lights on and off it takes a couple minutes for them to raise and lower although the do it on their own both directions(just slow).... Twice during the 1000 miles I've driven it the brake light came on when I applied the brake hard but went right back off. I assume from the sitting might need to bleed the brakes a bit more as they put a new caliper on back.... Brakes work great, pull straight and not to either side, and no vibration when stopping.....I bought the car for what the dealership gave trade-in on it and have spent money on it after buying it from them... At that I still have nearly 14k invested and hope to get around that out of it.... I'm setting reserve low as I have some antique cars I want to concentrate on now..... I'll do a partial trade but need at least 5k in cash. Feel free to contact me at 606-213-7987 with any questions. Located at Virgie KY 41572.
Pick up: Vehicle can be picked up in Wise VA where I work Mon-Sat 8am til 7pm or anytime after or on sunday at Virgie (41572) Pikeville(41501).... I'll do what I can to help... If you want to fly in and drive home I can pick you up at the airport.....On Mar-29-17 at 13:40:04 PDT, seller added the following information:

Just schooled by my boss who is an avid Vette guy. He said this unit is more rare than I even thought as it was one of the very last to come off the line. This is a 1976 Stingray and 76 is the last year they were made. The last ones across the line received the 1977 rear bumper, gas lid, front flags, and radio. All 1976's except the last round had the radio turning up and down and the last ones had the radio side to side as todays vehicles are. This one is all that and also has the dealer order console pillow as well with it. It comes with the sport steering wheel, steel rally's, and will make someone a nice toy for their toy chest. Since my knee surgery and having a bad back this 365 pound guy just doesn't enjoy driving it anymore..... If it wasn't for that I'd never let it go....
