INTRODUCTORY NOTES: How many 57-year old Impalas can be left with a TOTAL southern solid-body history? This impressive survivor was cherished for many years by its original owner...an Atlanta Delta employee who drove it to work everyday. It was even built in Atlanta! Through the decades, it became a bit famous to classic car collectors who admired how well it was cared-for and preserved. Finally, it was acquired by a master-mechanic Chevrolet enthusiast with over 50 years of experience with these cars. A low mileage (under 50K miles) 348 cid engine was found, all mechanical details were thoroughly evaluated and rebuilt, restored or replaced as necessary for excellent road-worthiness. Then, the seats were re-upholstered, door panels replaced, and new carpet installed. New windshield and gasket...all new rubber seal gaskets too. New tires, refurbished hubcaps, and trunk kit installed as well.

THE RESULT IS A SUPER-SHARP CAR TO "DRIVE & SHOW"...the stainless and aluminum trim are very nice. Bumpers were in amazingly good condition, so the owner opted for original patina vs. re-plating. The "bones" of this car were among the best you could ever find or hope for - extremely solid throughout. Stunning good looks elicit cheers from young and old. A "star" everywhere it goes. The famed iconic GM "Bubble Top" is totally unique...and will never be seen again. In sum, a well-preserved Southern classic such as this that is largely original and simply maintained mechanically and cosmetically "face-lifted" (e.g. new paint and upholstery/carpet) is preferred by many to a completely disassembled/reassembled car that loses some charm.

LOCATION: Fayetteville, GA ...approx. 22 miles south of Atlanta

EXCELLENT INVESTMENT - the best cars of the 1950s have been "Blue Chip" investments for decades, and will continue to be. The 1960 Impala Bubble-Top has a special and unique following among classic car and Chevy lovers worldwide...a smart "bet" for potential continued appreciation.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR TRI-POWER TO EBAY BUYER...as shown at left, we have a restored Tri-Power set-up (Three-2-BBL carbs, Manifold, Air Cleaner, and Progressive Linkage). It is NOT included in this auction! BUT, it is available to the Impala high bidder/purchaser for $2750 extra for the parts-only, or $3750 installed. The future potential value of the car will likely be significantly greater with the addition of Tri-Power.

THE FIRST 16 PICTURES will give you a general overview of the Impala, but if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING...TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES: There are over 100 images that will show the car in great detail. BUT, to see ALL of the images, you MUST place your cursor DIRECTLY ON an image...and then scroll gently ALL the way to the bottom (be sure to allow time for all the images to load). CAUTION: If you use the scroll bar to the FAR right of your screen - OR, the "Click to View Image Album" feature - you will NOT be able to see all the images!
Over 2,700 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing, we've had over 2,700 transactions (both Buying AND Selling) on eBay without a single complaint. One of the keys to our success is to show LARGER and MORE images than almost any other eBay listing...so you can CLEARLY see what you are getting. We also give a very detailed description of the car...not just a couple sentences like many listings.
QUESTIONS?...after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description, please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions: 706-429-7924

OPERATIONAL REPORT: To cruise in this gorgeous classic is to experience the closest thing to time-travel that we will ever have! It drives smoothly, and shifts - turns - stops with confidence. Note: there is a bit of resistance in moving the shift lever to the "Park" position…which is greatly helped by first moving the lever all the way to the right, and then back to "Park".

Everything works, with the following minor exceptions...

  • Clock
  • Lighter
  • Windshield Washer (Pump restored...but not connected)

ODOMETER NOTE...the 90,815 mileage indicated is believed to be original to the car, and so it has not been disturbed/reset. However, due to the design limitations of 1960-era odometers, mileage cannot be ascertained with complete certainty. NOTE: the low mileage 348 cid engine installed in the car is believed to have less than 50,000 miles.

PAYMENT DETAILS: Payment is due within 2- business days of auction's end via Bank to Bank wire transfer. The vehicle will be released to the Buyer immediately upon - but not before - FULL bank clearance of payment.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS are welcome, but MUST adhere to the SAME Payment Terms detailed above and also make all arrangements for the pick-up and importation of the Vehicle into the Buyer's country. We will store the car free of charge for a reasonable period of time while transportation and shipment of the Vehicle is arranged.
ABOUT ME: I am an avid Classic Car enthusiast. After retiring from 30 years of Sales & Marketing in a Global 100 company, I began buying and selling Classic Cars and Collectibles as a collector and for friends and clients. This 1960 Impala belongs to a friend and fellow classic car enthusiast.
Please Note: as of this date, we have had over 2,700 eBay transactions with 100% Positive Feedback...this includes the sale of many Classic Cars to Buyers all over the world, including Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Australia, Russia, Canada, Japan and throughout the United States.
IMPORTANT FINAL REMARKS: . A Notarized Bill of Sale and the Vehicle Registration will be provided to the Buyer. NOTE: the State of Georgia did not issue auto titles back in 1960 - and so they do not do so for those cars even today! Instead, the registration card has a "Non-Title" notation and also serves as the owners legal proof of ownership. Rest assured that every state must respect all other states' motor vehicle laws, and that the car can be successfully registered and insured in any state.

This Vehicle is sold strictly as-shown and on a final as-is basis without any warranties expressed or implied due to age. Even the very best restored classics - such as this one - will require additional maintenance and service - often without warning. We have presented the car accurately to the best of our ability, but oversights are possible. Therefore - BEFORE the auction's end - bidders are welcome to examine the vehicle in person. All sales are final.

Please be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the captions because they relate important information too!
