Description of 1975 Chevrolet Other Cosworth Vega

Here is a double blast from the past that will be great deal for someone.

I have lost interest in a couple project Cosworth Vegas I purchased a few years ago. 1975 Chevrolet Vega Cosworth # 0095 and a 1976 # 2596. The 75 has 51,868 miles and the 76 has 45,786 miles. There were a lot of "firsts" for these cars. The Cosworth model was aheadof its time with the 4 cylindertwin overhead cam, fuel injected engine, rated at 110 horse power, stainless steel headers, cast aluminum wheels, manual transmissionand positraction rear axle with heavy duty front and rear sway bars. It also sports full factory instrumentation and an AM-FM radio. These are both original intact cars.

While not setting records in the quarter mile, it did take the Vega to another level. Back in the day (1969), John DeLorean was given charge of the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. Fast forwarding a few years, the Cosworth was supposed to be the "import killer" with the influx of imported vehicles. These were very limited production vehicles and were only made for 2 years (75-76) with a total number for both years being 3057, 2061 in 1975 and 1446 in 1976. Popularity for the Cosworth did not come until decades later. There is a nationwide club of enthusiasts out there to keep the car alive, the Cosworth Vega Owners Club. These vehicles have been registered in the club.

Exterior
Both are black with gold stripes and black interiors. I believe the paint on both these cars is original showing plenty of little dings and scares. They show signs of use and perhaps long periods of storage. I would give both about a 6 for condition. There is no rust that I have found and the frame and floors are solid. I do not believe either vehicle has been wrecked. The 76 has had the wheels rehabbed and new 185/75R13 rubber, the 75 wheels/tires will need attention. The undercarriage is all original, floors, etc and looks good although they have never been detailed. They have been off the road for many years and I do not know much of the history other than there were NW cars. It would appear that the mileage on cars is original.Bumpers are good. I have extra NOS stripe kits that will go along with the cars.

Interior

The interior in the 76 has new carpet and is pretty clean. I would give it a 7 for condition. The interior on the 75 has been untouched (probably a 5) and I have a new carpet kit for it. The headliners and seats are in good shape. The door panel in the 76 was cut for speakers along with the rear panel. The gold, swirl decal on the dash fascia is intact and also in great condition.

In general, both vehicles are in good shape but both are fixers. The 76 is closest to being completed. The 75 has the head off the engine, I don't know why, I bought it that way. Bring a trailer. Clean titles in hand.

I reserve the right to remove add at any time as these cars are also listed locally.

This is for both cars.

When I bought them the guy dumped a little gas into the fuel line on the 76 and it started right up. He thought the fuel relay under passenger side was faulty. I never did anything to isolate the problem but I can tell you it did start right up when he did that. I was playing with this car and put new carpet in it, cleaned up the wiring, cleaned up the interior, refinished the wheels, replaced the tires.
The 75 has the head off. It was that way when I bought it. I haven't done anything with that car.
Both the cars are great projects. They are not torn up or rusted out.
I was just playing with them and had a couple health issues and just sort of lost interest. They have been sitting there a couple years without being touched and the wife is giving me a bad time to get rid of them.
