Vinyl Interior SELLER REMARKS Second generation Camaros continue to be strong sellers. and if past performance is any indication. this 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 tribute probably won't last very long. Built to drive. it's got all the right hardware to be fun on the street and still looks fantastic when you park it. In a world of black. orange. and red Camaros. this sophisticated dark blue Z is going to get some attention. From the wicked stance to the cowl induction hood to the painted stripes. it's definitely got some attitude. The paint job was finished a few years ago. and while it's not a show car. you won't mind pulling it into the driveway for a Saturday morning polish before hitting the road. The silver stripes really accentuate the dark blue finish and I like the use of the earlier low-rise rear spoiler that doesn't interrupt the smooth. clean lines of the second-generation F-body. Z/28 badges were added and the nose was converted to the more desirable RS setup. so it's definitely got a look that appeals to a wide range of enthusiasts and when you see it on the street. it'll definitely earn some respect. There's not a lot of shiny trim on a Camaro. but the bright parts like the bumpers. rocker panel trim. and even the rings around the taillights are in good condition. The interior was fully restored around the same time the paint work was done. and it sticks to the factory patterns and materials for the most part. Those supportive bucket seats are as comfortable as they look and the rear seat was upholstered to match. so it look quite fresh. There's also a Z/28 emblem in the middle of the rear bench. which should have been there from the start because it looks so right and the view out front with that cowl induction hood is very cool. Factory gauges have big. easy to read dials with clear lenses and you already know how much we love the horseshoe shifter. And speaking of the shifter. if you look closely you'll see that it now has one extra detent for the 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission underneath. The sound system is a newer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit with speakers in the usual locations. and even with a rumbling exhaust note. it sounds pretty good. The trunk is likely original. and despite a little surface discoloration. it's in good order thanks to a lifetime in a warm climate. The engine is a 350 cubic inch LT1 that loves to rev and pulls hard through the gears. Built for the road. it's got less than 100 shake-down miles. so it's fresh and ready to rock. Induction comes from a 600 CFM Holley. 882 heads. and an open element air cleaner. so it runs superbly. Inside there are flat-top pistons and a mild cam. so it has the right sound without being too cranky. The engine bay isn't detailed for show. but Chevy Orange paint. chrome dress-up parts. and some bright yellow ignition wires are a good start. Long-tube headers feed a pair of glasspack-style mufflers so it's definitely got the right sound. but with the aforementioned overdrive transmission and 2. 73 gears. it's a comfortable highway cruiser as well. Four-wheel disc brakes were added to give it modern stopping power and 18-inch wheels with 255/35/18 performance radials are a big boost in the handling department. Fast. fun. and very affordable. this is the kind of Camaro that we have no problem selling. If you like the way it looks. you're going to love how it drives.
