Description of 1965 Chevrolet Nova 100 Sedan

8. 50 certified rollcage. twin turbo 1800 HP. Black on Black Pro Street. 1965 Chevy II Nova. Pro Street Supercar!!! I have owned this car for just over 20 years I have slowly built it into the car it is. at home in my garage. The car is not perfect. but it is an awesome car. I have moved on to a screw-blown Pro Mod and need this car to continue it's life in the hands of someone that will enjoy and appreciate this monster. I'll tell you about the car. accurately. I describe what each area of the car is. then I will tell you what needs a little TLC. no surprises. no BS. The body is all steel (plus and additional Glasstek 4 inch cowl hood [two hoods] with proper trim and springs). All of the trim is driver quality (or better) proper 1965 trim. Blue dots in tail lights on car and extra non modified lenses included. I back-halved the car in 1998. the cage has a current 8. 50 cert (I will get a new cert at your cost before you pick the car up if you wish. 125 to 175 $ extra). The rear end is a Dana 60 with 4. 56 non-pro gears. 35 spline axles. 80 Trans-Am rear discs. and a Chris Alston's Pro street. urethane bushed. 4 link (Bushings are available at Chris Alston's and I would recommend replacement soon). I bought the Dana 60 new from Strange as well as new 1350 joint drive shafts for both the installed 4L80e and TH400 (both drive shafts come with car purchase. have all receipts). The wheelie bars in some of the pics are included. wheels need to be purchased to use them. The paint is 8 years old. the body work over the rear wheel wells that have been stretched to accommodate the 32 x 17. 5 MT ET streets needs some TLC. A second set of Hoosier. full tread street tires on Weld Drag lights are included in sale. I painted the car over the summer of 2006. PPG base/clear. I still have the paint. it probably is not good. but will guide you in getting new paint if you want to fix this area. There is no rear seat. 5 point harnesses. (current SFI in left seat). The transmission is a Rossler 4L80e with a computer to control all the parameters of shifting. The input shaft is the 300m and all sorts of trick mods have been done. Transbrake that works in 1st and second (I don't know about 3rd. would never use the brake in 3rd). The convertor is from Midwest with triple lockup discs. With overdrive. lockup. 32 inch tall tires and 4. 56 grears. this Nova cruises the highway at 2100 or so RPM at 60 MPH. The Motor is a Steve Schmidt built 555 CID Merlin block BBC. 9. 8 deck. The heads are Edelbrock Victor 7760 ported by Steve for the best in turbo power. Titan billet oil pump. Crower Dragon Slayer crank and 4340 H beam Crower rods. 8. 5 to 1 J&E pistons. SFI flexplate. Heads and main fasteners are ARP studs. Cometic head gaskets. all good stuff. Comp Cams solid roller with Endure-ex lifters. aluminum roller rockers. and much thicker wall push rods for dependability. Edelbrock Victor intake for injection with 90mm throttle body. The turbos are Garret oil cooled 88mm ball bearing. purchased new. they are loud ;-). Currently set at 24 lbs of boost with a supplemental methanol injection pump supplying 1/3 of the fuel though a separate injection pump at 4 psi of boost and up. 160 lb. injectors are the main super unleaded fuel source. The fuel and ignition are controlled by a FAST computer with data logging and full control of all parameters. The air charge is routed from the turbos. through the interior. to a huge air/water intercooler behind passenger seat. At the end of a pass. the air going into the motor at 24 psi is at 100 degrees!!!! The occasional valve adjustment is pretty tough. lots of stuff to pull off for valve adjustment. The exhaust after the turbos is OK. not stellar. and needs gaskets. not a big job. but needed. There are two V belts on the water pump and crank. one of the belts also spins the alternator. This belt has been a challenge to keep on. a serpentine setup would do a lot better. The wiring harness is solid. but not pretty. pretty would take a bit of work. No heat or A/C
