Description of 1969 Chevrolet C-10

1969 Chevy Step Side Truck

This truck was found in Baldwin, Wi in a barn owned by the Amish.

I fought for weeks to get ownership. Once I did, I decided it would be mine forever. Slowly I began to replace parts, ad-ons, change things, like the mirrors and the spare tire holder in the fender. I searched for a long time to find the right fender. I came to find that there was nothing less $500 for a fender and soon realized my only other choice was LMC truck. My wife and I had spent a fortune purchasing misc. parts from this darn magazine. Now it meant something. So we decided to paint it. But don’t forget this whole time we are driving this truck. We drive it thru town and county roads, getting smiles and thumbs up along the way.

People just walk up to you and start talking about how this truck is so nice. As the family grew we realized we cannot have a two-seater truck. Therefore, we decided to trade it for an RV. Time to travel and not have the toys we use too. The kids aren’t small anymore and we just don’t fit in this truck.

We have added a seat cover, new carpet kit, door stills, door molding, dash pad, flasher, radio, speakers and fuel tank behind the seat.

Under the hood, I have update the carburetor which is a Rochester 4 barrel, hooked up to a Chevy 350 stock engine which is is bolted to a 350, 3 speed transmission. The fuel pump, the battery, the water pump have all been replaced. Of course, the plugs, cap and rotors too.

I had an air filter that fit. I know it isn’t stock but it looks so pretty.

The outside as you can see has new lights paint and rims. Haven’t done the bed yet but plan on putting a sheet of plywood in then lacquer it and it will look great.

The truck drives well, runs well and all is good. There comes a time in life you just move on.
