| Texas Motor Toys is proud to present. 1955 Chevrolet BelAir Convertible For 60 years. nbsp;the 1955 Chevrolet has been an American favorite on the roads. culminating into true collector status. There are few more identifiable classic cars than a Chevrolet Tri-Five or "shoebox" Chevy. This example features several mechanical updates while retaining the classic lines we have all grown to know and love. The interior has been restored to original and beyond while the drivetrain has been updated with a later carbureted 350 cubic inch smallblock V8. The wheels of choice are polished 15-inch American Torque Thrusts all around. The stance on this beauty is excellent as is the condition. The Ben Gill Park in Terrell. Texas is the location for many of our photos of this perennial American classic. This '55 Chevy really sits right. The front end has just been completely rebuilt with lowered front (dropped) spindles installed along with updated front disc brakes. The wheels of choice are polished American Racing Torque-Thrust rims fitted with 195/65R15 radials up front & 245/60R15s out back. Open the doors to 1955. This interior was lovingly restored to original. 525 Red & Beige vinyl. The carpeting was replaced with a high quality reproduction set complete with sewn seams while the dash was completely disassembled and restored throughout. The gauges are functional. The door panels are excellent and correct. The steering column was replaced with a low-key updated tilt column. painted to match the car. The steering wheel is a smaller diameter billet & leather wrapped unit. The radio was forgone in favor of a tasteful delete plate. All of the weatherstrip was replaced throughout this car. This will be an excellent candidate for a weekend show/driver that you can keep garaged until sunny days. There is plenty of room for you and your kids or grandkids. The cowl identification plate is in place and displays the codes for Gypsy Red (596) and Red/Beige Interior (525)The engine compartment has been detailed to show. The later 350 Chevrolet V8 smallblock is dressed up with finned aluminum valve covers & breather. Induction duties are handled via a 4bbl. carburetor atop an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. The reliable cast iron exhaust manifolds are shielded with chromed heat shields and breathing through custom dual exhaust (sounds excellent) The engine inner fenders. firewall. and core support sheetmetal is in excellent condition. During the restoration. all of this was taken apart and restored to match the exterior. The fasteners were also replaced throughout. The cooling system has been gone through and radiator replaced along with an updated shroud installed. The engine compartment looks excellent. The V8 engine runs smooth and is paired with a just rebuilt 700R4 Automatic Overdrive transmission. The undercarriage displays the excellent flooring and framework throughout. So many components have been removed/restored or replaced. The shocks are updated. The exhaust system was also updated. Again. the front end was rebuilt as was the freshly installed 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission. The trunk retains its spare tire carrier well as well. The trunk is clean and detailed. displaying solid sheetmetal throughout and fitted with a correct replacement rubber mat. The trunk seal was also replaced as were the door seals. The white convertible top assembly was replaced and framework restored along with the top power components. This top works excellent and fits tight. The glass rolls up and down as it should. The window seals and felts were also replaced. The VIN identification plate is also in place. This car was born a true "VC" V8 BelAir. This is your chance to own a very unique 1955 Chevrolet BelAir convertible. These cars are increasingly hard to find in this kind of condition.
