Description of 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

Marina Blue with Blue interior, L68 427/400hp, 4-spd manual transmission.
For the chosen few that had the wherewithal to buy a new '67 Corvette back in the day, it's doubtful most really knew the significance of their purchase. This was to be the final year of production for the second generation or "mid-years", as the '63-'67 models were known. And as was often the case, the last of the line turned out to be the best! But truth be told, the '67 Corvette as we know it, wasn't suppos...ed to exist in the first place! Anticipation was high for the arrival of the new third-generation Stingray aka the "Shark". And this new Corvette was originally due to be released as a '67 model. But, it wasn't quite ready for prime time. So, the powers at GM decided that the mid-year bodied Corvette would continue for one more year. And because everyone was waiting for the new girl to arrive, many '67's languished in Chevrolet showrooms throughout the Country unsold. Who'd a thought!! However, the extra year enabled the boys at GM time to refine the C2 just enough to make what is considered the best mid-year, if not the best of the first three generation Corvettes ever built! Hindsight is indeed 20/20.
This beautiful matching #'s '67 was sold new out of Brigance Chevrolet in Oak Park, IL. in Dec. of '66. It's been frame off restored to a very high standard in its correct Marina Blue with Bright Blue interior and nicely documented with the original Tank Sticker and P-o-P along with an N.C.R.S. Shipping Data Report. All the hard work paid off, as car achieved the coveted Triple Crown Award, having first won multiple N.C.R.S. Top Flights, Bloomington Gold and Chevy Vette Fest Gold Spinner (no easy feat!). Options include the L68 427c.i. 400hp big block, M21 4-speed transmission, K66 transistorized ignition, AM/FM radio, Posi rear end and side exhaust which was added at a later date. The awards speak for themselves. But in addition, the car has undergone a thorough inspection by a renown third generation Corvette expert and found to be highly correct and very original. It's quite an impressive '67 that would make an excellent addition to the most discriminating collector's garage or enjoyed as it was meant to . . . On the road!
