Description of 1961 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 CHEYENNE |
| This 1961 Chevy Apache 2500 factory service truck was purchased from the second owner in northern California where it has spent its entire life. The body is solid and the California patina is awesome. This truck is a good runner driver and it gets attention while on the road. This is a clean California survivor truck with no hidden surprises. THE BODY- The factory floor pans are solid with surface rust only and they have not been tampered with. Both of the kick panels intact and they are not rotted out. The original fire wall is in great condition and has not been cut up or beat on. The paint on the fire wall is in good condition also there are no rusty spots on the driver’s side or passenger side in the upper corners of the fire wall. The service bed is in good condition and it is not rotted out or rusty inside of the boxes. The doors are functional and they all latch but I don't have the key to lock them. The inside of the bed is also solid and it is not rusty or ratted out. The tail gate is also in good condition with no rust or rot and it is functional. The original doors are in good condition with light surface rust on the bottoms thy are not rotted out and they open and close nicely. The front fenders are dry and not rotted out but they do have dings and dents. The passenger side inner fender wells also shows no signs of rust same with the driver’s side the both look good. The original battery tray is intact and it is not rotted out. The radiator support is also original and shows no signs of rust and will not need to be replaced. The outer rockers are solid and shows no signs of body fillers or rust same with the cab corners. The inner rockers and body braces are also solid they look good. The windshield pillars and upper windshield area both outside and inside are rust free and are in good condition. Behind the inner windshield rubber across the top is also dry and still shows its original paint at the pinch weld this area is not rusted out. The top of the metal dash down by the windshields rubber is in good condition and still has the original paint and is not rusty or water stained. The hood is straight and is not bowed it fits well. The original hood hinges are in good condition and are not sprung. The rain gutters are all solid along with the roof. Overall the body on this truck is in great original condition for being a 1961 and the bottom side of this truck is not rotted out or full of under coating it is apparent when looking underneath this truck. This truck has all its original GM panels and is not a bondoed up mess. The patina on this truck is awesome and it is ready for logos of your choice. THE INTERIOR- The inside of this truck is clean and presentable and the original seat is due to be recovered. The original gauges are intact and in good working order. The original steering wheel is in good condition for being original and the horn works. THE MOTOR- This motor is a stock 6cy that this is a good running motor that has good power and it is not a leaker or smoker. THE TRANS - The 3 speed trans shifts good and is in good working order and is not a leaker. The rear end is a nice tight rear end that does not clunk or howl and when you drop this truck in to gear there is no universal joint clunks or noises. THE ELECTRICAL/AC- Most all the electrical in this truck is original and is in good working order along with the heater. THE OVER ALL- This truck is a driver that was well taken care of and was not beat on or abused. This truck is ready to enjoy and is a blast to drive I just recently took this truck on a 4HR road trip and it had no problems. The front end is nice and tight and this truck steers straight for being a 1961. The rims and hubcaps are in good condition and they look good on this truck. The BFG tires are in newer good condition. The front and rear bumpers are original and are straight and clean for being original. All the outer chrome and bright work is original to the truck and it is in good original condition. The power brake are in good working order. The exhaust is older but does not leak. The bottom side of this truck is not under coated from the factory and it is clear to see that it is not a rotted out mess.
